Farewell…

mayer

…Christopher Mayer, Actor

With numerous amounts of TV credits under his name, Christopher Mayer will be remembered. He departed from us at the age of 57 on July 23.

Aside from his most known role on Dukes of Hazard as Vance Duke – taking over for the original Duke boys for nearly two seasons as well as The Dukes spinoff – he acted in a variety of other TV series. To name a few, he starred as T. J Daniels on Santa Barbara and Pete Bozak on Glitter and had guest spots on The Love Boat, Xena Warrior Princess, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. 18 Wheels of Justice was his last appearance on a show back in 2000. These along with many other TV series were a great part of his acting career.

Breaking Bad – Recap & Review – Bullet Points

Breaking Bad
Bullet Points

Original Air Date: Aug 7, 2011

A speculation of doom has been floating around the past few weeks, since Walt and Jesse have tread a fine line with Gus.  Their punishment was a stay of execution and something that felt like indentured servitude to them.  However, this is the bed they made and now they have no other choice but to lie in it, right?

This week the build is quickening to something tragic or triumphant.  At this point, I’m not sure which.  Can Jesse finally make his way towards mental recovery and can Walt get to a balance that doesn’t feel chaotic? I guess it depends on how Gus’ man Mike wants to handle things.

The season four finale of In Plain Sight is this Sunday and the actors recently got on a conference call to talk about this past season and looking into the future.

The focus this season was really on Mary’s pregnancy, on and off the screen. Here are a few questions and two cents we got from Mary McCormack and Fred Weller.

KPonTV on 2011 Emmy Picks – Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama

emmy picks: lead actress drama

Every year I attempt to predict the Emmys. I’m usually wrong. How wrong? If I was a weather man, I’d predict snow in July.

However, I’m a self-proclaimed TV critic and thus, it’s in my mental contract with myself to try to predict the winners. I am fortunate enough to have seen at least SOME of the episodes of most of the nominated shows and can speak pretty well on most of the actors. So, let’s see if my predictions can hold any water this year. (I wouldn’t hold your breath.)

In any case, I hope I can start a debate with you all and we can discuss the possible winners in the comments below. Here we go!

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
2010 Winner: Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

Explosions, intrigue and heartfelt moments galore! You can always count on Team Westen to perk up an otherwise dreary week. This time the almost coincidental union of Fi’s door-kicking Jimmy Choos, Sam’s still unseen girlfriend and Michael’s inability to take an easy job sees movement on the frame job front as well as Team Westen finding themselves embroiled in an ugly child custody case with fringe extremists. No really, you heard me right. Religious fringe extremists to be precise.

Read on for more after the jump, as well as a bonus easter egg!

The opening group number is different. At this point in the competition, we’re talking about the best and brightest, and the choreography is unique, and the music is different. It’s quiet but fabulous.

How do we feel about what Cat is wearing? She’s been impeccable all season, this is pushing the envelope! Much more revealing (on top at least) than usual, and sort of sultry. It seems to me that it’s sort of pulling in places. Hmmm. On to the dancing!

Confronted with a heat wave and a powerful need to get stuff done, Michael decides he needs to break all established family rules and use his father’s car. This is taboo as his father has always been very protective about the car. However, Michael learns from Kitty that GOB has been using the car, so he goes to confront him. He finds him at the banana stand, attempting to con a free “GOB” banana out of George Michael. Michael lays down the law and pisses GOB off, who drives off on his Segway. Before he leaves, GOB tells Michael that Lindsey has the car.

Although we’ve stopped calling it “The Next Generation”, these episodes definitely stilled lived up to the moniker, as nary a grade 12-er was to be seen. Everything seems to be more ongoing with the summer telenovela format, so there are no real endings to these story arcs.

So let’s get right down to it, with our coverage of what happened, and see if we like where it’s going!

Big Brother – Recap & Review – Week 4 Eviction

Big Brother
Week 4 Eviction

Original Air Date: Aug 4, 2011

Lauren A – TwoCents Reviewer

It’s taken 4 weeks, but Big Brother finally bid farewell to a veteran player tonight. As Julie (who may or may not be heading to tennis with Nancy Drew after the show) reminded us, Brendon displayed some form of dramatized chivalry by keeping himself on the block and saving Rachel in this week’s PoV ceremony. Daniele chose Jordan to go up as a pawn against Brendon – who, in Dani’s words, “wants to trample over old women and babies to get to prizes,”- hoping the house would see him as the bigger threat. So which dynamic duo is splitsville for the summer, and which gets to stay together another week? Read on…
