Welcome back! This first episode of Season 2 tries hard to show us that things will be different this season as compared to last. The elimination challenge demands the creation of a showpiece. With the chefs split into four teams, two of the showpieces look great and the other two? Well, not as much.

Live Preps Regis Sendoff

philbin and ripa

This September, Emmy-winning “LIVE! with Regis and Kelly” hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa head into the home stretch of their partnership, the final months before Philbin’s November departure from the top morning show.

On September 5, LIVE will kick off the “Regis Farewell Celebration Season,” a heartfelt, not-to-be-missed commemoration of the legendary co-host’s years on LIVE.

Philbin took LIVE from its early days as a local New York City program to its present-day status as one of the most successful talk shows ever in daytime television. The “Regis Farewell Celebration Season” will be a fitting tribute to the iconic co-host who has helmed the program from the very beginning. Throughout the fall, LIVE will showcase Philbin’s top moments, classic memories many viewers will remember and the most entertaining highlights from the past 28 seasons of LIVE.

Drop It Like It’s Hot (Part One and Two)

Well, once again, my cable provider listed a different title than the episode reflected. So, if you’re looking for “Drop It Like It’s Hot” or “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To”, this is the right place for both. Although I really have no idea how the latter would apply to this two-parter!

With these episodes we had gambling, drugs, violence, and… science. But before you roll your eyes thinking that the third story arc was weak (which it was), would you believe that science actually played a pivotal role in two stories?

Cats! Cats! Cats!

After last week’s brilliant closing scene (one of my favorite ever), it would take a lot for this episode to have a moment that could rival it, but they did it! Never doubt the ability of a Weeds episode to blow your mind and catch you completely off-guard.

Although the season started out weak, and had me wondering if it would be able to meet the expectations set by previous seasons, the second half is proving the series still has a lot of offer fans. While it seems that things are turning around for the Botwins, this episode proves that New York has a lot of punches to throw at even the most well-meaning Botwin.

Absolutely the wrong person got booted off this week. My teeth are still grinding from frustration. Bet you can hear them from wherever you’re reading this.

The six remaining designers were thrilled to finally get another individual challenge. They HGTV’d a fan’s home. Spaces were decided by drawing cards out of a box. Karl got the master bedroom (which they wanted more elegant, but still masculine); Meg drew the foyer and loft (which they wanted grander); Kevin pulled the family room (a long, narrow room that the family wanted updated); Leslie selected the bedroom of a 2-year-old boy (the parents asked for a stage), Kellie got the slightly older brother’s room (he asked for bunk beds and lockers); while Mark drew the living room/dining room (they wanted elegant, warm and with a jazz club vibe).
