How I Met Your Mother
Something Old

Original Air Date: May 6, 2013

Even with the frenzy of finale season, this second-to-last episode of HIMYM has seemed to come suddenly. Maybe it’s because of the sporadic airing of the last several episodes- or maybe it’s because of everything we’re expecting to see happen.

We start in 1994, and Robin’s first visit to New York with her father. She digs a hole in Central Park and leaves a necklace in it, saying that someday, after she moves to New York, she’ll get it back so it can be the “something old” at her wedding.

Wilfred Season 3 Premieres Thursday June 20

Today FX announced that the third season of its original comedy series Wilfred will premiere on Thursday, June 20. Viewers will be treated to two new episodes airing back-to-back at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM ET/PT for the first two weeks of the season, followed by a July 4 hiatus. Beginning July 11, Wilfred will resume airing single episodes each Thursday at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

Starring Elijah Wood and Jason Gann, the series revolves around a young man, “Ryan” (Wood), who is struggling unsuccessfully to make his way in the world until he forms a unique friendship with “Wilfred” (Gann), his neighbor’s pet dog. Everyone else sees Wilfred as just a dog, but Ryan sees a crude and somewhat surly, yet irrepressibly brave and honest Australian bloke in a cheap dog suit. Series regulars also include Fiona Gubelmann as “Jenna,” Ryan’s beautiful neighbor and Wilfred’s owner, and Dorian Brown as “Kristen,” Ryan’s uptight sister. Guest stars Chris Klein, Mary Steenburgen and Dwight Yoakam reprise their roles this season, along with a new line-up of talent which includes Gina Gershon, Angela Kinsey, Jenny Mollen and Lance Reddick.

Revenge
Engagement

This week starts as Emily throws a private, romantic dinner for Daniel. She accepts Daniel’s re-proposal, and tells him that her biggest regret over the last year was not getting on a plane with him. Because of this, she gives Daniel plane tickets to Paris. Daniel and Emily surprise Victoria and Conrad by announcing their engagement and their imminent trip to Paris. Daniel and Emily plan to live there after they are married! That was a shocker to me!

Later, Victoria confronts Daniel about the engagement, trying to convince him that Emily has ulterior motives. Daniel tells Victoria that she will find his replacement by the weekend (referring to the search for her abandoned son, Patrick). Conrad tells Daniel that he is happy for him and thinks that announcing this will give him a bump in the polls. Daniel asks Conrad to release his trust funds from the Amanda Clarke foundation. Conrad agrees to do so (and later gives Daniel a check for the full amount). Daniel’s assistant calls Daniel to inform him that Aiden’s employment records have arrived from Takeda.

Events at the beginning of the episode are going well for SCDP. Then, things go south. Nope, farther south. Over at CGC, things aren’t going much better.

Then, things get better for everyone. Well, except for Pete but that’s okay because everyone hates Pete and Pete fell down the stairs (just a little). At the end of the episode, you’ll be excited wondering what’s next for everyone.

Magic comes with a price – are you willing to deal with the consequences? There’s always lost associated with magic, Neal knows best. Let’s see how Neal became the magic-loss-extraordinaire.

In London, England, Baelfire lands in this new world after being cut loose by The Dark One (ie his father) into the magic portal. Hungry, Bae sneaks into a mansion for food. Who happens upon him? Why, Wendy, of course! Instead of ratting him out, she hides him in her room and feeds him…for weeks. I mean, not a day, not two days but weeks. Where were the adults!

Doctor Who
The Crimson Horror

Maria – Associate Staff Writer
maria@thetwocentscorp.com

In Victorian London, Madam Vastra, Sontaran Strax and Human Jenny are still fighting crime, and a new client comes to them with the tale of the Crimson Horror up North. In Yorkshire, bodies have been turning up in the river, waxy and bright red. The trio head to Yorkshire, and soon track down Mrs. Gillyflower (Diana Rigg) and her blind daughter Ada (Rachael Stirling) to Sweetville Mill.

There’s something very strange happening in the Mill, least of all is a “monster” that Blind Ada keeps locked up and looks after in secret. Jenny stumbles across where the monster is kept, and opens the locked door to reveal… The Doctor, barely able to move, his skin horrifyingly crimson.

The Big Bang Theory
The Proton Resurgence

For starters this week – I love the computer controlled foam dart gun Penny’s using to hit the guys. Her targeting is pretty impressive too. It’s also pretty cool that “Professor Proton” is still around. I remember shows like that as a kid. Contrary to Penny’s assertion – I believe that Leonard is using the words “cool” and “awesome” correctly. As far as I’m concerned, those words are user defined.

The question is will Professor Proton be willing to come and hang out with his fans? And for how much?

A Landmark Tale

This week’s Elementary brought us a lot closer to the elusive villain that we’ve been waiting what feels like ages for, and it also brought us some great Holmes and Watson moments that made it stand out as one of the show’s most interesting. Coming off a strong episode last week. Elementary doesn’t disappoint; Vinnie Jones returned as Moran and brought Holmes some clues that could lead him closer to Moriarty himself. Hit the jump for more.

Heroic Origins

Original Air Date: May 2, 2013

Shannon – Associate Editor
shannon@thetwocentscorp.com

The group is studying for their history final, or attempting to, but Abed derails it with his “origins story”, or the story of how the group met. Jeff says they’re not superheroes. Meanwhile, Chang is lurking outside the study room, telling the person on the other end of his phone how he’s gained the whole school’s trust and now he’s ready to take them down. Who’s he talking to? The Dean from City College!

Abed has created the “Crazy Quilt of Destiny” that proves that they were all meant to meet. There are flashbacks! The first one is nerdy Annie with braces and jock Troy in high school. The next one is Shirley shopping at the mall when she passes right by Abed.
