When we last left the gang, Lily learned she was pregnant and a scene set in future the revealed that Barney was going to set aside his womanizing ways and get married. But to who? Questions like this have tormented us all summer.

Tonight’s premiere was comprised of not one but two episodes. With a whole hour of HIMYM to make up for the whole summer away, we were given a few more hints and a lot more reason to wait anxiously for the rest of the season.

Before the actual review, I want to say two things: First, had it not been the support of Castle fans, we would not have a season 4. Secondly, I LOVE YOU, Penny Johnson. Sir.

My father was in a car accident three weeks ago. I’m not saying this to gain sympathy. I think that good TV has a message. The message of tonight’s season premiere episode of Castle was the same one my father has to learn now. Time. The old cliché is that time heals all wounds, and for the most part I really believe that. When I heard what happened to my dad, it was the scariest moment of my life. The opening scene of this episode – Lanie’s hands over Beckett’s bleeding heart as the stretcher raced through the hospital, Ryan and Esposito barking commands into their phones, desperate to track the shooter, the Castle family’s anguished despair – accurately portray that fear.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 1

Dancing with the Stars
Week 1

Original Air Date: Sep 19, 2011

Annette – Associate Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

Season 13 is here! With it comes the usual mix of “celebrities”: actors, activists, reality stars and athletes (and George Clooney’s ex). Surprisingly, no token senior citizen to tear up the floor. New this season is a much bigger ballroom with a raised floor – here’s hoping no one falls off and breaks a leg. Also, there are some new faces among the pros. A few of the dancers from the “Troupe” last season have become pro partners and the pro sibling rivalry is renewed with the addition of Val Chmerkovskiy.

The dancing itself was not too shabby. A few surprises, a few stumbles. No one really stood out from the pack, but almost everyone did a pretty good job for day one. Read on to find out…

When you’re a hunter, you’re only as good as the weapons you keep. Aside from having a brother you can trust watching your back, of course.

And through the years the Winchesters have brandished everything from the conventional (modified of course) to the periodic table elements that vanquish whatever evil crosses their path.

Here’s the first five weapons every Supernatural fan shouldn’t be without!

This season has been slowly building tension through paranoia and pressures of all kinds lurking. All players have had something nagging at them, reminding them that the consequences of their decisions could lead to painful outcomes. Walt found out how painful when he finally confronted Jesse about his loyalty.

This week the others see some outcomes they did not expect from their risky decisions. Neither did I for that matter.

TTC Weekly Picks September 19 – September 25

September 19 – September 25
Karen – Sr Staff Writer
Karen@thetwocentscorp.com

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.
So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

So first let me start by saying; Thank God we have some premieres happening this week. The USA Network was my saving grace during the summer, but now we get to check out some new shows along with finding out what happens next after leaving us with some doozies of a finale last spring.

We open on a scared policewoman in a 1980’s style creepy hotel. She’s writing notes about her experiences. She isn’t the first victim the hotel has claimed. She opens the door to see a gorilla (okay, clearly a man in a gorilla suit) overlaid with illustrations of a wild gorilla from a book. Afterwards, the policewoman is overcome with euphoria and starts writing “praise him” in her notepad. Just who is this “Him” and what exactly is going on?

“While you’re looking for answers, the rest of us – we’re fighting a war.”

The tension with the Rev heats up this week as he inserts himself yet again into a police investigation and steps up his efforts and to protect Haven his way – by killing all the troubled.

Nathan and Audrey investigate the disappearance of a teenage boy. He was last seen by a trucker, who spotted him heading out of a convenient store with a suspected serial killer (tattoo matched the description). The trucker follows them to a shed behind the store, where he hears weird noises and then is knocked unconscious.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia – Recap & Review – Frank’s Pretty Woman

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Frank’s Pretty Woman

Original Air Date: Sep 15, 2011

Anne – Associate Editor
anne@thetwocentscorp.com

It feels like forever, but it’s finally time for the seventh season premiere of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (IASIP). By this time, most fans of the show know that Rob McElhenney (Mac) gained weight for the season, but it’s still hilarious when he comes on-screen for the first time. To read more about how he did it, please check out my interview with him. One thing that you have to keep in mind about this show is that it’s very tongue in cheek and shouldn’t be taken too seriously; because if you do take it seriously, you’re going to get offended, not if, but when.

The thing I get the biggest kick out of, other than Big Mac (can I use that safely? I don’t want to get smacked down by Ronald!), is the ironic fact that the actress who plays Frank’s prostitute is Alanna Ubach, who played Danny Devito’s daughter in the movie Renaissance Man. I highly recommend that movie, by the way. I thought it was her, but I had to doublecheck. The voice she put on was so different. Anyway, let’s get started.
