This is my second season recapping The Middle and I have to say, after watching the premieres of several shows this week, the bar was set high – but The Middle never fails to entertain!

I absolutely loved this premiere and what made it so much better was the reunion between Patricia Heaton (Frankie) and Ray Romano guest starring.

One of my favorite contestants from a personality standpoint was eliminated, so that was disappointing. Surprising and pleasing was how well one particular cheftestant did.

Also surprising was how nice one chef was when he didn’t have to be.

The low down
Well, I hoped it wouldn’t happen and I tried to keep an open mind about him but another Hantz has entered my dog house. Like his uncle Russel, he also doesn’t understand how interpersonal relationships work. Also like his uncle, he has problems relating to women.

I hope he turns it around but this was already the second episode in a row and it was already much stronger and louder than the first episode. On the lighter side, however, Ozzy keeps on being Ozzy and that’s fun to watch.

Criminal Minds – Recap & Review – It Takes A Village

Criminal Minds
It Takes A Village

My first Criminal Minds review is one for the long-awaited season 7 premiere. I have to admit after watching Castle’s premiere on Monday and Law & Orders SVU yesterday the bar has been set pretty high. I was a little worried, I’ll admit that. After all how does one top emotionally charged episodes like that?

But to be honest in this case the answer, at least for me, was rather simple. Criminal Minds has one huge advantage on their side, not one but two fandom favorites are returning to their rightful place in the middle of their team, their ‘family’ and the job that they love so much.

Yes, this is the episode in which both AJ Cook and Paget Brewster return as Jennifer Jareau and Emily Prentiss. And after everything that happened last season, the uproar in the fandom when the news broke that AJ Cook and Paget Brewster were let go or cut down on hours to eventually disappear completely, hasn’t been in vain.

New to the ABC Fall line-up, Revenge is a nighttime soap that tells the tale of a young woman seeking to make the people who ruined her father pay for their actions. Set in the glittery world of the Hamptons in the summer, and amidst the dangerous elite crowds (with a few exceptions), the series offers beautiful aerial shots and lavish wardrobe, but if it wants to survive the cut-throat primetime market, it also needs to bring solid acting and storytelling with twists the viewer doesn’t see coming.

So does Revenge look like it has what it takes to survive? Continue reading

If you watch this show, you probably know by now that Chris Meloni isn’t returning this season. After 12 years, I’m not sure what this means for the series. Hopefully this episode and the reaction to it will give us some indication.

The case of the week involves the credibility of an accusation of rape, so at least the show is sticking to the types of storylines it is best known for. With, of course, lots of drama, plot twisting, and angst. It is a season premiere, after all.

Granted, this episode wasn’t quite as action packed as the pilot, but it didn’t have to be. I think that they are moving along at a steady speed. But I can see where some people may look at it as boring. I, however, am not one of those people. I think that there were some suspenseful moments and some unexpected moments as well. Sarah continues to adeptly play all three roles with seeming ease and aplomb. I can’t find any weakest links in the bunch, though someone who I don’t like at all does emerge in this episode.

We pick up where we left off in the loft, where Bridget is struggling to hide the goon’s body. Just as she’s done rolling it up in a painters tarp, Gemma shows up to further shriek about Henry and his affair. I’m used to Tara Summers on Boston Legal and it’s a bit jarring seeing her with that red hair, but she does pull it off. I was wrong about Gemma last week, she is actually an architect, not a designer. Potato/potato, just as impressive. I do hope that she learns more about the affair soon, because it will add more interesting drama and I’m getting sick of the constant whining. I know it’s only the second episode though, so I’ll let it go, for now.

Tonight was the beginning of the anticipated season premiere of “Body of Proof” – at least for me. I’ve been looking forward to this night since the finale of the first season. It was one of my favorites last season. If you haven’t seen it yet and love medical dramas, this is a must see!

We begin tonight’s episode with two teenage lovers meeting in the woods in the middle of the night. This however is interrupted when a car comes careening at them. It’s not just for any reason, the driver was found to be dead…..with strange circumstances.

In the second episode of the series, Up All Night shows us that despite all the cursing and the job in television, Chris and Reagan are more than capable of acting just like those of us who spend all day in front of the computer.

As the episode title would indicate, a hot young couple is moving in next to Chris and Reagan. They respond by dancing awkwardly in front of the window. Aren’t these the people who had to set aside partying for parenting last week?

Gibbs explains to Dr. Rachel Cranston (Kate Todd’s sister) that an Agent was found unconscious, a single bullet wound to the chest. That Agent is Tony DiNozzo, and he’s as clueless as the audience. Rachel aims to coax Tony through the temporary amnesia due to his recent trauma. He was wearing a bulletproof vest, but the force of the shot still caused him to fall and hit his head.

Shots were fired from Tony’s gun as well though. Good for Tony, right? Not so good, because Gibbs finds a bloody NCIS badge amongst Tony’s possessions. And it’s not Tony’s.
