Take The Lead

It’s time to take the lead. The fifth year Residents are ready, or they should be ready, to rotate as lead surgeons. An Attending will be in the OR with them but they should only step in if it is absolutely necessary. They even get the instruction to allow the Residents to drown a little before they step in to offer help or advice. After all, they have to learn to swim without a flotation device sometimes.

Richard Webber announces to the Attendings that he’s stepping down. He’s no longer the Chief though he will continue to work as a surgeon, which causes some awkward situations. Both he, as well as Derek, have been blacklisted and are never going to be able to do another trial again. Webber made Hunt the new Chief of Surgery, something no one knew about – not even Cristina. This is not really surprising since they haven’t really been talking to each other. Webber, however, seems happy with the whole ordeal. He has some extra time with Adele because of Meredith and since he’s working less he’s gonna make sure that he’s going to spend it with her.

The Big Bang Theory – Recap & Review – The Pulled Groin Extrapolation

The Big Bang Theory
The Pulled Groin Extrapolation

Original Air Date: Sep 29, 2011

Thursday night and a new Big Bang were just the thing to get me perked back up to finish the week! Even on a bad day – it’s impossible to avoid laughing when the geeks are on their game. We started off with a good laugh at Penny’s intercept of Sheldon’s obvious attempt to justify why he should have the last dumpling, but I do have to say I felt that his retort about her mother seemed beneath his usually more intellectual insults.

We get right back to the usual banter though as Raj mistakes himself for Howard’s “honey” and Sheldon decides to make it a game to see who gets to go out of their way to take him to the new train store before diverging into this week’s stories. For inquiring minds that want to know – the four letter word that’s both a printer’s type size and a compulsion to eat dirt is….

Child beauty pageants are creepy, we all have to admit that fact. But when our gang takes on a pageant of their own, we see what creepy really is. I have to confess, I didn’t love this episode, though there were some funny moments. I’m anxious to hear what you all think after you read the recap. Let’s not waste any more time.

Frank comes running into the bar and trips and breaks his nose, blood everywhere. Is it just me or has there been a lot more gore this season so far? But it did add to the creepiness of the episode. Anyway, he shares with the gang that he met a shady guy who convinced him to invest in a beauty pageant. There’s just one catch…it’s a child pageant that comes with a scandal attached. The shady guy was caught coming on to one of the girls. He’s a diddler, apparently.

CBS’ How to Be a Gentleman premiered last night after The Big Bang Theory.

I hope it enjoys it’s hit show lead-in, but it might do better partnered with 2 Broke Girls CBS’s other freshman Odd Couple comedy.

Annie is in Poli Sci class. Their professor was sitting in a wheelchair when he pops up to his feet. Annie gets overshadowed by an Annie Kim who is pretty much the Asian version of Annie but more annoying. They are über competitive with each other. Jeff tells her “she’s the best, kiddo” and that is so hot.

Annie talks about starting a Model UN at Greendale and invites Annie Kim to join. Annie Kim says she’ll be busy but covertly steals the idea and starts up the model UN herself. Jeff is angry on her behalf and the professor suggests they have a Model UN Battle Royale. To the death. Or something like that.

Jim asks Kevin to help him with some paperwork and he is talking like The Incredible Hulk.  Jim and Pam want to take him to the hospital.  Kevin just thinks he’s saving time by not saying superfluous words.  Kevin thinks he’ll save enough time to either “see world” or “Sea World”.

Yeah.  Me no get it, but ok.

In last week’s premiere, Finch claimed the massive surveillance system known as ‘The Machine’ is never wrong – but can a system designed by a man really be infallible? Is this device the next best thing to an all-knowing deity? This week’s episode is all about the difficulty of forging trust – with both man and machine.

We also get some of the back story we’ve been craving, as we find out more about the mysterious Mr. Finch and the origin of The Machine. Fans of Lost will dig this episode, not only for the way it starts to slowly peel back mysteries, but for a very special guest star!

Valentina D. – Sr. Reviewer

The parks department is gearing up for “Battle Royale,” a meeting where all departments fight for more money and naturally, Leslie turns to Ron to go to bat for them. Ron’s got bigger problems: as seen in the premiere, Ron’s first ex-wive, Tammy One, surfaced to make his life hell by telling him he’s being audited by the IRS. Since Ron only owns gold, which he has buried in random spots around Pawnee, the only receipts he carries are for shotgun shell cigarettes, purchased for his mother Tammy.

That’s right: tonight, we finally meet the woman who started it all…Tammy Zero.

The Vampire Diaries
The End of the Affair

Original Air Date: Sep 29, 2011

Ky – TwoCents Reviewer

The End of the Affair. Wherein (if these intros are getting boring, guys, let me know) Klaus reveals why he can’t do without Stefan, Damon makes it into Elena’s bed, Caroline is mercilessly tortured by a crazy again, aaaaand…

*drum roll*

…a Very Important Someone who we’ve dearly missed pops back up.

Katherine is…in a phone booth! An awkward reprise of recent happenings is exchanged between her and Damon and we are off to Chicago. Where Klaus and Stefan get out of a large black vehicle that I’m guessing is expensive. Klaus apparently has memories he wants Stefan to relive. Luckily, there’s a flashback for that:

Stefan is one cute 1920s boy. And the blonde vampire flapper who cleans his dinner off his face ain’t too shabby either. What more will we discover???
