Last week on 90210, Dixon became a drug addict, Annie became an escort, Naomi’s ex came back, Adrianna was stalked, & Jane’s dead husband Jim turned out to be very much alive. This week featured the return of Teddy, stripping, escorting, and politics. Read on for this weeks review.

Teddy – Teddy was made a series regular in Season 3 but was dropped to recurring in Season 4 and he’s soon going to be written off the show completely. Teddy’s coming out story was one of the better storylines last season, but even though he was a regular last season he was still barely seen. Last time we saw Teddy he came out to his dad on the phone during a flight. So what did his dad say? Nothing, he never called Teddy back, but his Uncle Charles called him. Teddy’s conservative uncle invited him over, where he said he didn’t care about his “lifestyle choice” and asked him to join his campaign to run for Congress. Teddy agrees to join.

Did everyone have their Kleenex handy tonight? Between Kristina, Sarah, and Julia, there were certainly tear-worthy moments. But luckily for us, Adam was on hand to make a fool out of himself for our amusement.

It’s almost odd that this big moment happened in October. Normally TV series save “the big moments” for sweeps months. But Parenthood is a series of small, big life moments designed to affect us all.

I always hate it when a kid finds the dead body (parts). That kid is scarred for life! Par for the course in TV land though. This episode is chock full of guest stars including Patty Cline, Peter Fonda, Autumn Reeser and William Baldwin. So who’s the bad guy/killer/terrorist this time?

Steve is pretty focused on figuring out what his dad was doing with Wo Fat. But the case in hand (haha see what I did there?) comes first.

Movie night was sort of a bust, in my opinion anyway. There were a couple good dances, lots of mediocrity and one catastrophe.

Julianne Hough returns to the ballroom to promote Footloose and dance with her costar and with Derek. As for elimination – another shocker. Read on to find out who went home.

It happened. I had faith that Two and a Half Men could survive post-Charlie, but if this episode is any indication of what’s to come, there is no way this show will survive.

In one episode we get the return of Lyndsey (never realized she was “gone…”) and Courtney, another women fantasizing about Walden while with another man, the exit of Courtney, the return of Bridget (again…), some blackmail and it’s all a big hot mess.

Can making the best gumbo in Bluebell make you the best doctor in Bluebell? Zoe Hart think so! This week, she’s still trying to prove to the town that she belongs and that she’s a good doctor. She has her father’s reputation to uphold after all.

Zoe’s still has no patients, and she’s shocked to learn that Brick has hired a new receptionist (Didi) without consulting her. He tells her that he can do whatever she wants since he brings in all the business. Luckily for her, she likes to stick around the office when he’s not there to get his emergency clients. This time, it’s a boy who’s been bitten by a snake. Just like the ticks the week before, she’s not familiar with this local ailment and goes off to find what kind of snake bit the boy. She begrudging enlists Wade’s help and ends up getting bit by the snake herself. Back at the office, Brick’s already fixed up the boy.

At first you might feel rather disoriented… it’s like your life is a puzzle and you’re watching it slowly breaking in pieces right in front of your eyes. There’s nothing you can do to stop it and after a while you won’t even remember why you wanted to in the first place. That’s when your short time memory becomes fragile to the point of starting a cognitive retrocession that will take your mind back in time. Once there, the memories of your current present will be nothing but tales of an unforeseen future and the memories from decades ago will feel fresh.

On this brand new episode of Terra Nova you’re introduced to a virus that creates a restoring point in your brain and then resets your memory, taking your mind back to some point in the past.

Curious?

What was going on this week with our Gossip Girl gang? I mean, there are usually many unbelievable things happening at once but when you see Chuck Bass hugging a puppy while crying, you know something has gone horribly wrong… In other news, fake Charlie is there to stay (was there ever any doubt?), Dan does look like a Muppet, Blair is in full denial mode and Nate acts like an idiot (well, I guess some things never change…) Oh, and did I mention Chuck freaking Bass is hugging puppies now?

Castle – Recap & Review – Kick the Ballistics

Kick the Ballistics

Ever since Honeymilk I’ve been hoping for some good Ryan backstory and character development. When Jerry Tyson, aka the Triple Killer, stole his gun and badge back in season 2, I was anxious for the storyline to pick back up. The victim is a young blonde woman, 3XK’s usual target. But she’s been shot, rather than strangled. Ballistics determines the gun was Ryan’s Glock 17.

The victim’s body is discovered by construction works as they fill an area with cement. Castle jokingly pins it as a mob hit, but as they interrogate the victim’s ex boyfriend – always a favorite suspect – Beckett gets the call from Ballistics. Seamus Denver does a great job throughout this episode portraying guilt. He’s perfectly justified, and the way it builds up his determination is very emotional.

My TwoCents: 10 Reasons Why X-Factor Is Better Than Idol

better than idol

Patricia Morris Buckley — Sr. Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

For four years, I’ve covered American Idol for TheTwoCents.com, loving pretty much every minute. So I approached the launch of The X Factor with trepidation, knowing it could probably be a mere imitation.

Sure, I wanted to see Simon Cowell again. And I thought Simon’s hiring Paula Abdul was genius – together again! But I didn’t think the show would really compare to Idol.
