We’re barely halfway through season 19 and casting is already almost done for season 20. If you hadn’t heard, Tiger Woods’ alleged (do we still have to say that?) mistress Rachel Uchitel was slated to be a contestant but found out she was pregnant during her screening. I’m sort of excited about that because she was already on one reality show and when former reality show contestants come on The Amazing Race, it sort of ruins it.

And in current news, remember how slow and uneventful the leg was? The exact opposite can be said this week, with tasks galore, including one right up to the pit stop!

So, with that, I give you the top seven things I learned from The Amazing Race – Season 19

Covert Affairs Returns Nov 1

On Tuesday Nov. 1, Covert Affairs returns for the second half of their sophomore season. I thought that I would just give you a little reminder of what was happening when we left off.

The season ended with an episode that dealt with secrets and trust issues. Annie decided to come clean with her sister and tell her what her true day job is. She explained she was a spy, she loved it and she was damn good at it. Danielle went thru a series of emotions that in the end resulted in Annie having to move out and find a new place to live.

Whatever you are doing or are planning on doing, forget it. I am quite serious. Take a little break from life and watch this episode of Sanctuary. Never watched the show? Start now. Still on season 3? Catch up. Already watched it? Watch it again.

If I were you, I would expect greatness, because that’s all you’re going to get from Sanctuary this season. It’s getting better, bolder, sexier, smarter… What else can we ask for? Honestly? For renewal.

But while we wait for the good news, shall we discuss this episode?

“Recess is over, kids”. Get ready to be blown away.

Two men walk into a bank. One is tall and the other a bit stockier, both with decidedly gorgeous hair. They corral the customers into the vault and then open fire on with semi-automatic weapons. Just before the massacre, Dean winks at the camera.

Wait, what?

Silencing the heart enables the mind to become a superpower; nonetheless, Nikita’s strength has never been in silencing her heart. While she seems calm and collected – a logical creature – the entire reason Nikita is living in hiding is because she has allowed her heart to rule rationality. Unfortunately, for once, viewers have a real reason to fear that Nikita won’t make it through this one okay.

Tonight’s episode takes the Division’s cruelty to a whole new level. Nikita can handle the mind games, but when it comes to games of the heart she shows her greatest weaknesses.

It’s been nearly 200 days since we’ve gotten to spend some time with our friends from Buymoria (199 to be exact since Chuck Versus the Cliffhanger). In case you don’t recall, Chuck and his gang of spies were all fired/burned at the end of last season. Chuck had the Intersect removed, against his will, by agent Decker and Morgan accidentally intercepted his own personal copy of the Intersect.

This week starts with the death of the police chief in a small vacation community. She was apparently shot twice at a previous location and transported in her own trunk until she woke up and tried to get out. This caused her killer to crash the squad car, shoot her again and run. Yeah, definitely not a professional job.

So, who wanted the chief dead? And why? Rigsby heads to her house to find out and ends up in a stand-off.

My first thought on this episode – I wonder if Sheldon’s equation would also explain why I’m fairly useless before 10am. My next thought – I love Halloween, it’s my favorite holiday. So I especially love it when my favorite shows embrace it with such enthusiasm. And I don’t care what Sheldon was saying, he was at the very least a little scared during the opening sequence. Yes, he managed to explain everything away after a moment, but there was at least a little initial fear. Then when he saw Leonard behind him in the mask – priceless.

The fun of the boys trying to scare each other is a nice contrast to the more serious threat to Leonard’s relationship with Priya.

Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games

Have you ever been so bored that you make up your own games to pass the time? Well, that’s what our gang does on this week’s episode. Except they take it to extremes and it’s hilarious. They were very, very bored and decided to play Chardee MacDennis, a game they created on a similar day years ago. Poor Mac and Charlie have never won before. Ever. Charlie says, “It’s not a game…it’s a war!” Indeed. The game is made up of bits and pieces of other games and there are three levels.

Andy is screening the office’s Halloween costumes. He doesn’t want any lame costumes. They pretty much all are. Andy is a construction worker and Erin is Wendy like the hamburger restaurant. Jim is Chris Bosh, whoever that is. Dwight is Kerrigan from Star Craft. Kerrigan is a girl with huge purple boobs.

Andy is nervous because Robert California is coming by. He brings his son Bert to the office. Bert thinks their party is lame. Erin is offended because she’s in charge of the party planning per Andy’s request.
