Jess is kind of a good friend, picking up Cece (the model best friend former roommate) from a bar where she is trashed. She’s worried about the boys having plans at home, which she shouldn’t be worried about. Has she met them? Nick is spending his weekend playing video games, and the perfection that is Max Greenfield as Schmidt is “chilling in his ‘mono.” I actually can’t type that sentence with a straight face.

Jess is actually apologizing for Cecelia being loose and grabby when she’s drunk. Again has she met them? They are all over that!

Glee – Recap & Review – The First Time

Glee
The First Time

Alyssa Silva – Sr Reviewer

Glee has always dealt about The Sex from its inception. From Quinn’s pregnancy, Puck’s promiscuous ways, to the club itself swapping partners – teenage sex has always been some part of the discussion. This episode, however, didn’t handle the topic as well as The Power of Madonna back in Season Two.

While it did fumble its way towards a relatively okay ending, the road there felt more like a forced message of self-acceptance rather the characters realizing in a more natural way that waiting for your first time should be up to you rather than for self-gain.

Raising Hope – Recap & Review – Jimmy and the Kid

Burt really does try to take care of Maw Maw, he’s a good son-in-law. But she’s a handful. As proved by her tendency to bite him…and spit things at him. At the store, Barney is all atwitter because his ex-wife is there. What? Well she has a pretty adorable kid, and is divorced and thinking about returning to whatever town it is they live in. This oughta be good.

At home, Maw Maw may or may not have swallowed a gold tooth, about which Burt is overly excited. You know, cash for gold and the like? But Virginia insists they aren’t “those people” and I have to agree with her. Even if she is wearing a matching outfit with Hope.

Covert Affairs – Recap & Review – Uberlin

Annie is kind of on the back burner in this episode and the focus is mostly on Arthur Campbell, as he goes out into the field and meets up with an old asset that has Joan a bit nervous. Joan is so concerned, that she is going to have Annie doing a bit of spying on the ol hubby and reporting back the results. Uh oh, this is where we would insert #AwkwardMoment.

On the other hand, we have Auggie debating on going to the would-be 30th birthday party of Billy, who used to be in Auggies Special Op unit. He was killed during the mission that blinded Auggie. He has conflicted feelings about staying and helping Annie or going.

This season has taken its biggest turn yet. The show has continued to gain momentum, as we found out yesterday, when they released that this season is going to have an extra episode! We have to find out what is going to happen with Gemma and Clay, she already knows that he has been lying to her, but how is she going to react when she finds out he put the hit out on Tara.

Jax continues to believe that he is getting out, but the further they get into this plan, the harder it seems to be for them to leave. Juice still has not returned to the club after meeting Linc Potter. That is going to take a toll on his relationship with the club. Lets see what happens this week!

Parenthood – Recap & Review – In-Between

When we’re little, we often hear to “look out for the quiet ones.” As a full-fledged adult, I don’t know if that’s ever more true than when I’m watching an episode of Parenthood.

This was a slow build of an episode, but the last quarter of the hour made it all worth it. Amber, sorely lacking in screen time this season, brought it (and the tears) in a standout scene. And if Mae Whitman is looking for her Emmy reel for next year, she need look no further. So let’s get down to it…

Tonight Bridget too easily gets rid of one of her biggest problems. Much too easily, but I’ll forgive that because there was some other great stuff about the episode. Malcolm struggles with his addiction relapse and things with Juliet and Mr. Hot for Teacher gets a bit stalky. Plus we see a familiar face from Paris on home turf and what happens is the best shock of the night. This one’s a doozy, so let’s jump right in, shall we?

At the hospital, the doctor can’t seem to find a baby in Bridget’s tummy. Of course, this just means that it was an ectopic pregnancy and she’s had a miscarriage. Bridget admits to having a little bleeding that week, but she didn’t want to worry Andrew. There you go. Too easy peasy, no?

The Biggest Loser 12 – Recap & Review – Week 8

Week 8

I think that it’s the way that you bounce back from adversary that shows your true character. I think that Ramon is being kind of a baby about Jessica getting sent home. He’s just whining and being sullen and I think that he should take that anger and put it into his workouts and stuff. He does eventually have a turn around and the blue team bonds together again. He starts off the episode feeling hurt and betrayed, wanting nothing to do with Sunny or Joe. I do feel bad for him and very proud of him when he comes around.

Ali meets with the trainers alone and tells them about this week’s twist. Only one person on their teams will represent the team’s weight loss for the week. The trainer will have to choose that person. Oh boy. This is going to be interesting!

Hawaii Five-O – Recap & Review – Lapa’au

Sometimes I think this show is single-handedly keeping the helicoptors in Hawaii in business! Along with every stunt man/woman and surfer on the island! Sheesh! So an airplane crashes into the ocean, almost into a surfer. But what we really care about is Danny watching an awful cult flick while Steve interrupts his reverie. Thank goodness! The boys are back!

The plane crash victim was an ICE agent, and their new co-worker Jeff is played by Greg Grunberg. A nice “Heroes” reunion for with Greg and Masi (aka Jeff and Max).
