Farewell…Patrice O’Neal

…Patrice O’Neal, Comedian

Comedian Patrice O’Neal died today in New York from complications after suffering a stroke last month. He was 41.

O’Neal appeared on Conan O’Brien’s and David Letterman’s late night TV shows and was also a frequent guest on the “Opie & Anthony” radio show on Sirius XM. He also appeared on Comedy Central’s celebrity roasts. In fact, O’Neal’s performance was a highlight of last summer’s roast of Charlie Sheen.

Some may remember O’Neal from his TV guest spots, including “The Office,” where he played warehouse worker Lonny (or as Kelly affectionately called him, “sea monster”). O’Neal is survived by his wife, Vondecarlo, his step daughter Aymilyon and sister Zinder.

We open on a court proceeding. The witness is talking about a televised hockey game that serves as an alibi for the defendant. It doesn’t hold up and the prosecutor asks for a continuance so he can go ahead and have a heart attack. That’s just inconvenient since he’s just about to win his case.

Foreman ruled out heart attack and anxiety and lied to the patient so he could get the case to House. Wow, the new Dean of Medicine is sneaky. Chase and Taub suggest he get a girlfriend.

Kyra Sedgwick returns as Brenda Lee Johnson tonight as The Closer is back on for the winter premiere. In the summer finale, we were all shell shocked when we thought Brenda had escaped a lawsuit when Goldman shocks Brenda and us.

Goldman is digging deep into Brenda’s past and dragging up old cases and he promises to take this to the federal level. We are left thinking about this moment for the last couple of moments and tonight, we get to see where Brenda goes next.
