Here we go again with the FBI and LAPD intersecting cases. This means we get to see Fritz more and we get to see how Brenda and Fritz deal with each other when it comes to police matters. We also get to see Brenda’s parents, like we always do around Christmas time, but this is a sad time for them.

We learn that Brenda’s dad, Clay, has Thyroid Cancer. On a good note, he is only in stage 1 and they should be able to fix it with surgery and hormone therapy.

With each week, we learn more and more about good ol’ Walden Schmidt. This week, we get to meet his mother. Since we already know he has “mommy issues,” this should be fun.

I wondered if Alan and MamaSchmidt would hit the sheets like Walden and MamaHarper, and sort of hoped they would for the sake of Alan…but what we got was a tale of Walden’s “brother,” the meeting of the parents and the first Christmas without Charlie.

Dear TV Claus … From Melanie

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

There are a few wrongs that need to be righted! Please fix them if you can!

1. Any chance of rescuing Pan Am? Pretty please?

2. Can we heal the relationship between Pam and Eric on True Blood?

3. Is it too much to ask to have time go really fast so the break in The Walking Dead season feels like one week (and stop jerking our heart strings with danger-to-kids storylines)?

What Went Wrong

During the opening scene of The Good Wife, I felt as though I had missed the first 35 minutes. Alicia and Diane are at the end of their case and it looks as though they are once again victorious.

Ah, once again, it’s all a house of cards and it takes an hour for the case to be finally closed. Good, I didn’t want to miss anything!

Once Upon a Time – Recap & Review – The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter

Once Upon a Time
The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter

The heart is vital to living. A logical person will automatically think of the blood pumping organ. A poetic person will interpret it as the essence of our humanity – without our heart, without compassion, without love – are we living?

Our heart is what lets us feel – sadness, happiness, hate, love. What if we didn’t have a heart? What would we do; who would we be? Apparently, a good-looking sheriff who is doing the nasty with evil and trying to wash away the shame.

Dexter – Recap & Review – Talk To The Hand

Talk To The Hand

Original Air Date: Dec 11, 2011

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor

The end is near. Per Travis Gellar, it’s the end of the world. Per Dexter, it’s the end of Travis’s reign of terror. And per us viewers, it’s the almost end of this season. Yes, because after tonight, there is only one episode left.

Whether you’ve enjoyed the season or found it highly ludicrous, there’s one thing we all know for certain… Dexter is coming back for two more seasons after this. So while that leaves us pretty positive that Dexter will live, we now have to wonder what supporting players won’t.

Here we are – the final leg of the 19th season of The Amazing Race. It feels like just yesterday the Showgirls were losing their passports at a gas station and Ethan and Jenna thought they could go unnoticed as previous reality show winners.

As usual, the last leg has one team fall behind while the other two battle their own issues, which in this case include a misguided local and a GPS that keeps recalculating.

So, with that, I give you the top three things I learned from The Amazing Race – Season 19 SEASON FINALE!

Saturday Night Live – Recap & Review – Katy Perry

Saturday Night Live
Katy Perry

Original Air Date: Dec 10, 2011

Len – Two Cents Reviewer
len@thetwocentscorp.com

The last time we saw Katy Perry in an SNL sketch, she was fitting her mesh-covered curves into an Elmo t-shirt in mock tribute to Sesame Street, which pulled one of her duets with the furry red monster after producers decided she was a Too-Busty-For-Daytime Player.

This time around, controversy of sorts still follows her – rumors have swirled lately that she and hubby Russell Brand are on the outs. Fortunately, Katy Perry knows how to put the gossip behind her and have fun. I felt she did a highly commendable job, and the show was pretty good overall after a slow start.

Let’s head to the scoring! Be sure to let me know your TwoCents in the comments at the end.

Dear TV Claus…from Thomas

It’s been another year of me being tremendously naughty but I’d still like to send some Holiday requests.

1. I know I asked last year, and maybe it slipped your mind, but I’d really like a Lost spin-off that covers the entire sordid history of the Dharma Initiative.

2. Cancel Whitney and never, ever, speak of it or re-run it ever. Don’t even put it out on DVD and BluRay.

3. Give Steven Colbert the Emmy already. I love Daily Show as much as the next guy, but Colbert more than deserves it for once.
