It’s odd how predictable this results show turned out to be. Think how it would have been if Rachel or Drew were still vying for the X Factor crown — we would have really been on the edges of our collective seats.

Instead, we got predictable and a whole lot of filler. The contestants sang a rather disjointed group number. The producers went over each contests’ history TWICE. We also had a spirited performance by Florence + The Machine’s new single, “Spectrum.” Then Nicole premiered a new single, the yawn-inducing “Pretty.” The judges were also introduced, with a grand entrance, twice.

This week Audrey buys a chair that neither she nor Jeff like. Jeff tells her that he hates it, but she won’t admit it to him, and therefore decides to return it to satisfy Jeff. Ahhh, ain’t marriage bliss?

On the other hand, we have Russ doing his usual slime ball routine of picking up women with the help of Timmy. But when he takes Timmy to a fancy place so he can hit on the waitress, something unexpected happens and their relationship is now tested.

It’s 1984 when a young Tate first meets Nora in the basement when she saves him from the abomination that was her son Thaddeus. It is this kindness, and the motherly attitude so lacking in his own life, that led directly to present day events and Tate’s desire to make Nora happy in return. But he can’t fulfill the promise he had made when he first did the deed with Vivien. He didn’t love Violet then and that has changed everything. He can’t take the child away. But she still thinks she can.

Nora’s not the only one that wants the babies though, so does Hayden, and the gay couple, and Constance herself. Who will win?

No parent should ever survive their kids. The reality is that it happens. There is nothing we can do to change that, as horrible as it is. A boxer from Philly, Jimmy, looses it when his son is loosing his battle to cancer. One he has been fighting for years. He deals with his emotions and pain by beating people up, who, in his eyes, deserve it.

It doesn’t matter if it’s just a passerby or his coach – who apparently made bets against him for as long as he had been coaching him. In all honesty, it was actually surprising that not more people were brutally killed.

I’ll hit this idea a few times in this recap but even though something epic happens, I can’t enjoy it. Between the weird religiousness and the apparent lack of trying from many players, it is a blah episode in a blah season.

Well, whatever. One more episode after this one.

Another team challenge! BUT! This time there are bigger consequences. What. Could. They. BE?!

In the people being jerks department, we get a boatload of Heather dumping on Beverly. Beverly provides a little personal information that all of the sudden makes everything Heather is doing very uncomfortable to watch (not that it was a barrel of monkeys in the first place).

Dear TV Claus … From Alyssa

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

To the most benevolent TV of Claus,

– Could you please bring Eric Kripke back to spearhead Supernatural? Or if you deem this the last season for the show, bless Jensen and Jared with stellar small screen careers so I can have my weekly dose of “Winchester” goodness.

– I know Glee sucks. The demise of the show has been painful to watch. For that make sure Ryan Murphy gets a lump of coal in his designer stocking, but let the rest of the cast prosper despite the downward Glee spiral. Also if I could get a little Puckleberry before this season is out, that would be sweet.

– Keep Hawaii Five-0, Once Upon A Time, Castle, The Vampire Diaries, Merlin, Psych and Leverage on the air as compensation for taking Glee off. That’s all I ask.
