Former Guest Stars Say Farewell to The Office (Part 2)

two-cents-office-goodbye-banner-ii.png

Over the years, The Office has been a bread and butter show for us here at TheTwoCents.com. We’ve interviewed all the stars of the show, as well as many of the guest actors in some of our favorite episodes.

Many of those actors have sent in their own messages to us here at TheTwoCents, saying farewell to The Office.

The Office finale airs tonight on NBC.

Season 4

From Paul:
“As The Office comes to an end, I have been thinking about all the great people I had a chance to meet. My one appearance on the show introduced me to a whole new world of Office fans who I truly enjoyed discussing my experience being on the set, becoming part of The Office family and the show in general with. As a fan of the show who had the unique opportunity to appear in an episode, The Office became one of the many adventures in my life. I was certainly hoping for a few more seasons so they could find a way to bring The Five Families back but it will be an experience I will never forget.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank all the fans of the show who I got to chat with over the years and a special thanks to Keith at TheTwoCents.com who was one of the first people I spoke to after the episode I was in aired. I hope we all get the chance to cross path again”

The Office Finale Memories – The 2007 Office Convention – VIP Casino Night

two-cents-office-goodbye-banner-ii.png

In 2007, many fanatics of the very young The Office converged on Scranton, PA to celebrate their favorite show. I was very lucky to have been there both as a reporter and as a fan. I’m going to share some memories in old blog posts from that time.

On the evening of the first day, the “VIP” level people were invited to a local horse track to re-enact “Casino Night” from The Office. Here’s my story…

After a quick stop off to check-in to the hotel, we were back in the car and back to downtown Scranton. The very nice parking spot across the street was gone, but we found a great parking garage around the corner.

Back into the Radisson to wait for the buses to the Casino and to check for our VIP passes. Tucker is still hunched over his laptop and we still don’t have our passes. The backup plan? Tim Holmes’ business card on a lanyard. Tim Holmes was the man in charge of everything for the Convention, from what I was told, his business card is like gold around Scranton.

A fun moment of getting back to the Radisson was meeting up with a MySpace friend – Bobblehead Gary. He was waiting for his VIP pass as well. Such a nice guy.

We go to check out the rest of the lobby and NP points over my shoulder. Standing there in the lobby was Creed Bratton. Our first cast sighting. He signed a few autographs and then ran into the elevator with the Scrantones. Nice.

The Office Finale Memories – 2007 The Office Convention – Cast Q&A

two-cents-office-goodbye-banner-ii.png

In 2007, many fanatics of the very young The Office converged on Scranton, PA to celebrate their favorite show. I was very lucky to have been there both as a reporter and as a fan. I’m going to share some memories in old blog posts from that time.

Want to know what the cast was thinking 6 years ago? Check it out!

An enormous crowd was spilling into the University of Scranton’s gymnasium. We were at the very end of this throng and I didn’t know how far away we would be sitting. Lord beer me strength if I need to sit in the back of this place.

One glance at my Corporate ID and I’m led to the front seats. We end us third row, just off center of the stage. We are about an hour away from the cast arriving and are treated to the song stylings of the Univ of Scranton Jazz Ensemble. They did a great job of playing upbeat songs while we all waited.

Finally the magic hour of 5pm hits and the large jumbo tron goes into the video that the people in Scranton made and sent to Greg Daniels and company at The Office to convince them to come. Big applause. However the real treat was a 10 minute video clip of bloopers from this current season! I’m already excited for the season 4 DVD now!

American Idol — Recap & Review — Finale

American Idol
Finale

Original Air Date: May 15, 2013

Patricia Morris Buckley — Sr. Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

Can you believe there hasn’t been an all-female finale since Season 3? Or a female winner since Jordan Sparks? That travesty is about to be righted in the next 24 hours.

Ryan called the match-up of Candice Glover and Kree Harrison country vs. soul. It’s odd that the two, who truly seem to be friends, have to have an all-or-nothing sing-off. But we have to have a winner. I have to wonder if the finale performances really does decide voters or if everyone has a favorite by now?

Bobby Ray Shafer (Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration) Says Goodbye To The Office

two-cents-office-goodbye-banner-ii.png

Bobby Ray Shafer is known to all fans of The Office as the man, the myth, the legend – Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration!

He has done many interviews with us in the past (including this great interview on the KPonTV Podcast) and has always shared his insight to the show and others he has been on. We asked Bobby his thoughts on the end of The Office and he submitted this piece for us, exclusively here on TheTwoCents.

shaferFrom Bobby Ray Shafer:

Yesterday I was auditioning for a new TV show. As I entered the room, the Casting Director, as is customary, introduced me to the assembled Production staff: “Bobby Ray Shafer.” The Executive Producer looked up and smiled and said: “Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration!” I smiled back and said: “Wait a minute, that’s my line!” And we all laughed. Little did I know in December, 2005 as I auditioned for the role of the refrigeration king of Scranton, PA, how it would all turn out; but then no-one could have foreseen the magical ride that was about to commence.

I don’t know anyone that likes to give eulogies — and it still feels hard to believe that it’s over (because it still feels like we’ve just started!), but all artistic endeavors, at some point, reach the two little words at the bottom of the page: “THE END.”
