TBS has given the greenlight to the new comedy series Sullivan and Son, starring popular comedian Steve Byrne and executive-produced by Vince Vaughn (The Break- Up), Peter Billingsley (Iron Man) and showrunner Rob Long (Cheers). Byrne also serves as producer on the series, which comes to TBS from Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television. The pilot was co-written by Byrne and Long, with Ted Wass (Rules of Engagement) directing. TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is slated to premiere this summer.

“Sullivan and Son is a smart, funny, workplace comedy from the distinct comedy voices of Steve Byrne and Rob Long,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies. “The barstools at Sullivan’s bar are filled with outrageous, unique characters, and Steve and Rob have created an outstanding world in which they can shine. We are extremely proud of this show and look forward to spending many nights throwing one back with the regulars at Sullivan & Son.”

Fox Announces April Launch Dates For Return of BONES and Debut of HOTEL HELL

photo: fox

On Thursday, April 5 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), BONES returns with an expectant Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) at odds over plans for the upcoming birth of their daughter. Meanwhile, a neighborhood is on edge when remains are found in the sewer, clogging up local plumbing lines.

After more than a decade of running restaurants in some of the world’s top hotels, Gordon Ramsay knows firsthand the crucial importance of surpassing guests’ highest expectations. In HOTEL HELL premiering Friday, April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Ramsay will travel across the country to fix horrid hotels, awful inns and just plain bad bed and breakfasts. To come to grips with the problems, Ramsay will endure hotels at their worst – from filthy bedrooms and mold-ridden bathrooms to dreadful room service and incompetent staff – all so you don’t have to. After he has uncovered the issues, Ramsay will put the hotel owners and employees to work as he attempts to turn around these failing establishments. With reputations on the line, one thing is certain: if they can’t meet Ramsay’s high standards, they will never check out of HOTEL HELL.

Up All Night
Day After Valentine’s Day

Original Air Date: Feb 9, 2012

Caitlin – Staff Writer

Despite this episode’s title, it was 5 and is now 4 days before Valentine’s Day. Regardless, this is an episode celebrating love. It does this, in part, through couples fighting. Go figure.

We open with a very special episode of Ava that involves a sexy man kissing random women. He plows straight pass a very eager Missy and instead kisses Reagan. And keeps kissing her. Sense a problem yet?

If you’re an Idol fan who doesn’t like all the drama and conflict of Group Round, then you might as well skipped this episode. No formal competition went down.

But a lot came up – as in several people’s lunches. What Ryan affectionately called the Idol Bug made its rounds through the contestants (except for Phil Phillips, who suffered from a kidney stone – ouch!). And Ryan seemed to magically know where the bug came from.

Pam is back after 8 weeks maternity leave. Everyone is kind of ragging on her for wanting more time when Angela sails in with treats. Angela gave birth less than a week prior and has her old figure back and still had time to bake brownies and cookies. That is just not right. Not right at all.

Andy got an email from corporate that gives Dwight a promotion. Dwight will be in charge of overseeing the opening of new Sabre stores in Tallahassee.

Tonight, Criss and Liz celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together! The only problem is that traditionally, Valentine’s Day has always been a disaster for Liz, leading her to give the holiday alternate names such as “Anna Howard Shaw Day,” and more recently, “League of Women Voters’ Day.” Will this particular one be any different or is there more disappointment in store for Liz?

With Avery still captive in North Korea, Jack and her mother, Charlotte team up to bring her back. Jack is lonelier than ever and he turns his attention to the one person that should be off-limits: his mother-in-law.

”Opportunities multiply as they are seized.” – Sun Tzu, The Art of War

This famous, 2000-year old Chinese military treatise (which means it’s available for free on your Kindle, right?) is frequently quoted by both Reese and our latest person of interest in this week’s episode. Reese goes a step further by showing this week’s POI how to put theory into practice by seizing every available opportunity to whoop some criminals, to satisfying results.

Speaking of seizing opportunities, teenage Brooklyn rapper Astro, whom you might recognize from this season’s The X Factor, has parlayed his success into a nice featured role as a young man bent on revenge. And he’s just in time for a good transitional episode this week, as Reese continues to dig up info on Finch, and Finch has to deal with the fallout from last week’s encounter with the mysterious Root and STILL manage to throw his nephew Will Ingram off the scent of The Machine.

So to quote another famous Chinese mind, “Click the link to read the rest of this week’s recap and review. In bed.”

Dangerous Liaisons

Dangerous Liaisons.  Wherein everybody gets dressed up snazzy-like to party (again), Esther makes an interesting mother, and both Triangles (i.e. Elena’s and Caroline’s) get great screen time.

Elena, Stefan, and Damon are having a kitchen planning session a la season two over all the beans Elijah’s spilled when they hear a knock on the door.  By the time Elena makes it to the door, the knocker has left only a calligraphy-ridden invitation to the Originals’ ball on the porch.  On the back is a personal note from Esther requesting a meeting with Elena.  Our three darlings argue over who is and who isn’t going to go to dancing and of course the boys decide that Elena is not.  We all know how well that’s going to go for them.

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor

karenbelgrad@thetwocentscorp.com

Next week is the Private Practice – Grey’s Anatomy two hour crossover event. It’s going to bring some of our favorite Los Angeles doctors to Seattle. It’s not a spoiler as it’s been promoted all month, not to mention before and after this episode. So what happened this hour?

Well, to be honest, not a whole lot. We had some small moments, some tender moments, and one “are you kidding me with this?” moment. But as a stand-alone episode, there definitely seemed to be something missing.
