This week is all about Grumpy the dwarf. He wasn’t always cantankerous, you know. Why’d he take a turn for the grouch? Let’s find out!

We open on some fairies flying in the clouds. The blue fairy gives the pink fairy some pixie dust saying it’s the most precious stuff on earth. Pink fairy is also kind of a klutz and some of the dust falls on a giant egg amidst a bunch of other giant eggs. That egg hatches a dwarf. Whoa, it’s Grumpy.

Hello! I’m taking on the job of reviewing and recapping The Amazing Race from Farrah. I hope that the shift in style isn’t too jarring for her followers. I know I have big shoes to fill.

This episode was notable for a very touch choice at the Detour between two very time-consuming things and a couple of very close finishes at the mat.

This week we find out that Frank has a “friend” he’s been seeing (which makes Danny uncomfortable) and she gets attacked. In other news, we finally get to see Jamie go deeper undercover in the Sanfino crime family and he hits his boiling point.

A Gifted Man – Recap & Review – In Case of Heart Failure

A Gifted Man
In Case of Heart Failure

Original Air Date: March 2, 2012

Dennis – TwoCents Reviewer

So tonight was quite possibly the last episode of A Gifted Man we’ll ever see, with the ratings for this season being on the low end for a CBS show on a Friday night. While I prefer serialized storytelling over procedural stories, I record a couple CBS procedurals every week and usually check out the new ones every season. When I saw the trailer for this show, I thought it might fill the Medium sized hole in my heart for a supernatural style drama. While I was in love with the pilot of this show (mostly due to the amazing direction by Jonathan Demme), most of the subsequent episodes have left a lot to be desired.

I’m fine with procedurals doing their cases of the week and having a little serialization/mythology tagged in every episode, but to keep me interested in the show, the writers have to show a little drama or momentum in the storytelling. For the most part, I thought A Gifted Man was quite boring and lifeless. While there were moments that showed the show could have been more interesting and unique, I thought most of the episodes showed a lot of wasted potential. I know the show has some fans (and good for you if you enjoy the show), but sadly, I’m not one of them. Read on for the season finale recap.

photo: fox

After its final Thursday night episode on March 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), THE FINDER will move to Fridays starting April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Don’t miss THE FINDER’s last Thursday episode on March 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), in which Walter (Geoff Stults) searches for a teenage girl who goes missing during an intense storm. Meanwhile, Isabel (Mercedes Masöhn) uncovers clues that link the girl’s disappearance to foul play and Willa’s (Maddie Hasson) probation officer puts her differences with Willa aside to join in the search.

Then, THE FINDER makes its time period premiere on Friday, April 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The episode features Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as music mogul Big Glade, who enlists Walter’s help in finding the source of illegally released songs. Big Glade’s business savvy lawyer (guest star Salli Richardson-Whitfield) is also Leo’s (Michael Clarke Duncan) former love interest, and the two rekindle their romance.

I have to admit, I wondered how Idol would fill two hours with the results from the Top 25. Lots and lots of filler, right? Not so much.

The brisk pace of the show kept things moving with no need for guest singers or video backstories. We did get a snip of each contestant’s performance, the judges’ comments and extra comment from vocal coach and Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine.

So, you know Kevin, right? Kevin who Ava’s been dating for a while. Kevin who almost broke up with Ava but then came back to her at a wedding? Well, tonight Ava’s lamenting Kevin’s move to Iowa. Yeah.

In the main plot, though, Reagan’s excited about woman who’s going to take over as head at the Ava show. Her name is Evanne, and apparently both Reagan and Ava have been idolizing her for a while.
