I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m a little speechless right now. That was an ending that I didn’t see coming! Ok, I saw it coming about ten seconds before it happened, but I am thoroughly stunned by it now!

But that ending (which we’ll discuss in a bit) wasn’t the only thing that occurred this episode. There was also a bit of espionage, community spirit, family discourse, and some other things… Of course, they all are overshadowed by that ending! But let’s go over what led up to that ending!

SMASH – Recap & Review – Let’s Be Bad

SMASH
Let’s Be Bad

Original Air Date: Mar 6, 2012

Lauren A – Senior Reviewer
lauren@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s a slippery slope on the SMASH set. Ivy’s insecurities are really getting the better of her (and driving me completely insane) and Karen is starting to slide into the driver’s seat. Julia lets Michael serenade her into a few bad decisions, and Tom finally takes the plunge with his lawyer-friend John.

Derek seems to be the only one keeping his cool, and that’s not something to take lightly. Eileen is still losing ground to Jerry, and it’s almost the last straw when he poaches her assistant. Luckily, creepy Ellis is on hand to help out where he can. I’m sure he’ll find a way to exploit that relationship somewhere down the road. After all, he’s ELLIS.

The Walking Dead
Judge, Jury, Executioner

Sayid is at his crazy interrogation game again. Oh, wait. That’s Daryl. But let me tell you, Sayid would be proud. The nutshell of info he gets from Randall is thus: He’s innocent of wrongdoing, his group includes women and children and about 30 guys, they are heavily armed, and they act like Reavers, what with the raping and all. To sum up: if Randall were to make his way back to his people and then lead them to the farm, it would be very, very ugly. The consensus seems to be execution, but gold old moral Dale wants time to speak to everyone individual. Rick gives him until sunset.

While guarding the prisoner, Andrea gets an earful of Shane. He crafts his argument very well, but what it comes down to is that he believes there should be a change in leadership. Full-on mutiny. They don’t have time to really flesh out the possibility before they find that Carl, crazy little Carl, has snuck into the stables where they are holding Randall. He didn’t say a word to the prisoner, he just wanted to see who the kid was. Shane sends Carl on his way, but that boy ain’t right.

The Good Wife – Recap & Review – After the Fall

After the Fall

I can see it’s going to be a real challenge to keep Will in the storyline now that he’s no longer at the firm (for six months, that is). Having his two sisters visit him to console him for “losing his job” seemed forced. Even silly at times.

Luckily, Alicia had a juicy wrongful death case. She defended a documentary filmmaker who had captured the last minutes of a girl’s life before committing suicide. Her parents said that the filmmaker encouraged people to jump off a bridge with a YouTube video he had posted. He claimed he called 911 to report their daughter’s presence on the bridge, but as that 911 tape is being used on another case, they can’t prove he’s telling the truth.

Comic Book Men – Recap & Review – Zombies

Comic Book Men
Zombies

Original Air Date: Mar 4, 2012

Jeff L – Staff Writer
JeffL@thetwocentscorp.com

This week we on a discussion, not at the podcast poker table, but at the counter of the Stash. Walt wants to know the Comic Book Men’s favorite super hero battles of all time. Mike picks Kingdom Come Superman vs. Captain Marvel (not Shazam as Mike mistakenly calls him). Walt picks The Thing vs. Hulk. Ming picks Superman vs Batman, but can’t remember that it’s from Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns and the guys give him a hard time about not having read those books. For shame, Ming. For shame. But seriously, I’d have given Mike a harder time about calling Captain Marvel “Shazam.”

The plot of this week’s issue revolves around Ming’s zombie-fetish fueled attempt to lure customers into the store for a huge 20% off sale. He arranges for a makeup artist to come into the store and zombify all the guys for a photo shoot so Ming can make a flyer to post around Red Bank. Of course, the sale doesn’t lure much business and Walt confirms the Stash made about $37 during the course of the sale. (37!?)

Army Wives
Winds of War/Perchance to Dream

Original Air Date: Mar 4, 2012

Will – Associate Staff Writer
will@thetwocentscorp.com

This is the very first episode that has ever been reviewed for The Two Cents and I am very excited to review it! I hope you all enjoy this show as much as I do and if you don’t watch, you will tune into Lifetime on Sundays at 9 to watch! Anyway, I was blown away by this episode (no pun intended). The Army Wives live in Charleston, South Carolina on Fort Marshall. A hurricane is coming to Charleston and everyone is getting prepared.

This is happening at a bad time because Fort Marshall is closing and the families are going to different bases throughout the country and world. Roxy is in denial throughout the whole episode because this will be her first move while the other wives have moved countless times. We learn that Denise will be going with Roxy so that makes her feel better while Claudia Joy is staying because she lives off base and Michael has not got new orders yet. Continue reading

Desperate Housewives – Recap & Review – She Needs Me

Desperate Housewives
She Needs Me

Original Air Date: Mar 4, 2012

Annette – Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

We’re moving every closer to the final episode. This week, we get some definitive answers surrounding the Alejandro mystery. We also get a classic Desperate Housewives catfight.

Lynette and Susan are still dealing with Porter’s decision to raise his baby, Gaby’s looking forward to Carlos coming home and Renee and Ben are back together. Bree thinks she’s happy, but of course we know better, and I didn’t think it was possible, but Orson gets creepier and more evil all in the name of love…
