Beside the Dying Fire

Remember when Rick saw that helicopter in Atlanta? You know, in the pilot? Well, those walkers that were gnawing on Rick’s horse saw it, too. Funny thing about walkers, they are attracted to noise. So they followed the helicopter for a while, as did other walkers. Then they heard another noise and follow it, as did other walkers. And so on. Before you know it, we have a herd, going from noise to noise, continually growing in number. The herd traveled for weeks, over miles and miles, following noises. In some woods, far away from Atlanta, they heard a gunshot. And then another. The walkers veered off their chosen path and headed straight for the noise… and the farm. I blame the helicopter pilot.

At the farm house, Daryl and Glenn show up looking for Rick and Shane. Daryl, being as awesome as he is, knows that something is terribly wrong. For one thing, Randall had been killed by Shane and returned. Lori begs him to go back and look for Rick, but on his way out the door he sees the herd. In the pasture, Rick tries to explain to Carl what happened to Shane, but he doesn’t get much of a chance because they see the herd, too. Oh, man, this is gonna be good.

Once Upon a Time
Heart of Darkness

Can you identify evil? It’s hard to recognize – evil doesn’t announce its presence; it slowly creeps up on you, looks you in the eye and say, “My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.” Too soon?

In Fairytale, Snow White is off the cruel charts. Rumpel’s potion not only took away her memories of Charming, it has left a hole in her heart where maliciousness is festering. She’s mean to her roommates, even making Happy unhappy. That wench!

I like when skill plays a role in the outcome in an episode and not random things such as taxi drivers. The skill I value most is good navigation and that plays right into who avoid elimination.

I also like when the race takes us to scenic locations and on this leg we go to Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Bavaria. It’s just a gorgeous location in the Bavarian Alps.

The whole neighborhood is dealing with the aftermath of Mike’s death and just when I thought the writers were back on their game, we got another episode of the neighborhood sage.

Each of the residents of the lane recalls wonderful memories with Mike and how he gave them the perfect advice that made the world right again. First it was the Emmy award winning turn for Beau Bridges as the helpful handyman and we went through it again with the happy stripper. Now Mike.

KPonTV on Justice League: Doom on DVD

photo: warner brothers

As I’ve mentioned before on this site, I loved Super Friends the Saturday Morning Cartoon. The newer version for the kiddies these days (and by kiddies, I mean everyone of all ages) is Justice League.

All the DC favorites are here. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman – yes, even Aquaman (I like Aquaman, get off my back).

The newest DVD / Blu-Ray release is Justice League: Doom.

Synopsis: The Justice League are Earth’s finest super heroes and protectors of humanity. But in the mind of the Dark Knight, they are potentially the most dangerous people on the planet should any of them go rogue.

What do ballet shoes, a fishery in Indonesia and the Winchesters have in common? Leviathans. Or rather Dick Roman’s conglomeration of evil. Supernatural came back from its hellatus to deliver two storylines that really didn’t go together – but nonetheless provided a confusing twist that I have no idea whether I saw coming.

Puzzled? Read on after the jump to gain some clarity!

Jules – News Editor
jules@thetwocentscorp.com

In Plain Sight-ers are you ready for the final season? Yes, it’s hard to believe that this is the last season premiere the show will ever have, but we do get an uninterrupted season with all eight episodes airing in a row.

When we left off last season, the team and their witness were in danger of being shot before Mary shot the suspect. Brandi left Peter at the altar and then Mary went into premature labor. So what happened to Mary and the baby? We get that answer almost immediately.
