Jess is in a bit of a bind at work. One of the big fancy donors (Dermot Mulroney) at school is also kind of a jerk. His daughter needs some help, but he won’t listen to Jess. To be fair, it’s kind of hard to take Jess seriously sometimes. Winston is upset with Schmidt for making him look bad in front of his girl. Schmidt is on a roll!

Nick is broke and has a horrible credit score, he can’t even get a phone. So convene the team for solutions!

Virginia gets to see some pretty interesting things in her house cleaning. One of those things is the drama of a teenage girl. And unfortunately for Virginia, the Chance family needs some fast cash to pay for “safe” baby toys for Hope. She takes on the care and feeding of a spoiled ridiculous teenage girl for two weeks.

Poor Burt though, he loves his wife so much. They can’t stand to be apart from each other! While they are off gallivanting, Jimmy has to take care of Maw Maw. Now that’s unfortunate.

We’ve had a few weeks off from the Harper/Schmidt clan and that’s actually okay. What’s not okay? Having Kathy Bates play the ghost of Charlie Harper (coming in the next few weeks). Well, maybe it is. I’m not quite sure. But at this point, I guess nothing is surprising about this show. At least we’ve moved on from the constant shots of naked Walden.

This week it’s a tale of two mothers when Lyndsey and Alan introduce their mothers to each other. How will that go over?

TBS Sets Summer Premieres For New Shows

photo: tbs

Thursdays are about to get funnier than ever. TBS has announced its original buddy comedy Men at Work, starring Danny Masterson (That ’70s Show, Yes Man), Michael Cassidy (The O.C.), Adam Busch (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and James Lesure (Las Vegas), will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), beginning May 24. TBS’s new workplace comedy Sullivan & Son, starring popular comedian Steve Byrne, will take over the timeslot when it premieres Thursday, July 19, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). The announcement comes just as TBS claims an important victory as basic cable’s #1 network with adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 in primetime.

Created by Breckin Meyer (TNT’s Franklin & Bash, Robot Chicken), Men at Work follows the misadventures of four buddies who work together at a magazine. Masterson plays the recently dumped Milo, whose friends are determined to help him get back in the game. Cassidy plays Tyler, a features writer who brings a dose of style and sophistication to the group. Busch is Neal, a somewhat nebbish reporter and the only one in the group with a steady girlfriend. And Lesure is Gibbs, a photographer and successful ladies man. Together, the four serve as each other’s wingmen as they navigate work, friendship and women.

In case you’re looking at the title of this episode and wondering just what a “broath” is, never fear. That’s quickly answered as the episode opens with Barney swearing Ted to secrecy over the truth of Quinn’s profession.

See, she’s about to meet the rest of the gang, and he’s worried about how they’d react. As Barney’s bro, Ted takes an oath that he won’t reveal either this or how she’s tricked Barney in the past. Bro + oath = “broath”.
