Curse

Last week’s return brought us more than a few shocks. Lee tried juggling crazy “ex” Eva and Faye, leading to Eva’s killing him with powers she shouldn’t have. We learned that Ethan betrayed Blackwell all those years ago and lent his power to them so they could defeat him. Dawn made a fool of herself with Blackwell, and Cassie and Adam took their relationship to a whole new level, just as we learn there is a curse on them being together!

With so much excitement last week, what could this week’s episode possible hold? Oh so much goodness, that’s what!

Will There Be “The Office” Season 9?

photo: nbc

Our friend’s at Nette’s Layouts posted something for all “The Office” fans to ponder. Will there be a season 9?

Most of the main cast are under contract until the current season 8 and a few of the current cast have joined other TV pilots, including Mindy Kaling and Ed Helms. In addition, James Spader didn’t renew his contract for Season 9 this week.

That leaves a lot on up in the air, including the fact that the show has been on a bit of a ratings decline this season, post-Michael Scott and Steve Carell.

Let’s get your TwoCents about it. Will there be a season 9?

This may have been one of the most lackluster Idol results shows ever.

Even a surprise appearance by Aerosmith’s Joe Perry to sing happy birthday to Steven Tyler didn’t goose it up. Perhaps returning Idol contestant Haley Reinhart singing her first single, “Free,” helped for a short time.

30 Rock
Kidnapped By Danger

Original Air Date: Mar 22, 2012

In the second half hour of 30 Rock, Jack’s mission to spread awareness of his wife’s kidnapping is in full swing. The Liz Lemon-penned tv movie Kidnapped By Danger undergoes a table read, with the role of Jack being played by an actor named Lance Drake Mandel. Think he looks familiar? He should, because in a genius casting move, he’s played expertly by guest star Billy Baldwin.

Meanwhile in the writers’ room, Jenna, drunk on stardom as usual, plays the song she wrote for the movie for the writers. When it only draws laughter from them, Frank tells a confused Jenna that Weird Al Yankovic parodied her song. She enlists Tracy’s help to co-write a new song; one that’s so wacky, it would be impossible to parody.

Grandmentor

This week, we were treated to a double dose of 30 Rock and the show was definitely firing on all cylinders. If you haven’t watched it yet, you’re in for a fine hour of comedy.

Somewhere down the line, the mentee must move on and become the mentor. When new page Hazel goes head to head with Kenneth and approaches Liz with her problems, Liz decides to take the (likely) mentally unbalanced page under her wing. While Jack deals with his new position of “grandmentor” to Hazel, he’s also feeling the absence of Avery and decides to raise awareness in the media. What desperate attempts is he willing to make in order to get his wife back from North Korea?

The bond between fathers and daughters is beloved in many TV shows. Chris spends most of his time with Amy already, though, so this episode focuses more on another pair- Ava and her dad. And his new family. Hmm.

As for Chris, he’ll actually be spending a little more time away from his daughter, filling in when the Ava show needs a replacement for a lawyer who backed out of offering advice on regular guest appearances.

Before we catch up with Blackapella, let’s look back on what I missed last week. On Shawn & the Real Girl Shawn and Gus had to go undercover on a Bachelorette type reality show after contestants came under attack. Shawn introduced Gus as Lorenz Tate. Brake fluid apparently looks and smells like salad dressing. The Japanese ruin everything! Mike “the Miz” isn’t too bad of an actor out of the ring, but he’s still a little psycho. Gus and Shawn are funny when they are fighting over the same girl. Greg Grunberg is a lying liar who lies, but he wasn’t the worse bad guy. It was the camera man who was the culprit. Shawn makes a wonderful matchmaker.

Oh, and Gus cries like a girl, too. Now, on to Let’s Doo-Wop It Again

KPonTV on The Unofficial Game of Thrones and Hunger Games Cookbooks

get hungry!

Whether you’re gearing up a little pre-game dinner before heading out to see Hunger Games this weekend or setting up a nice dinner to celebrate the April 1st premiere of Game of Thrones, I’ve got a fun little item to help make it more festive.

The other day I received a nice package at the TheTwoCents HQ from Adams Media. The Unofficial Game of Thrones Cookbook and The Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbook.

Now, when you stop and think about it, you may not want to eat like some of the characters do in these worlds, but trust me, these books are full of yum!
