Grey’s Anatomy
The Lion Sleeps Tonight

It’s hard to believe this is the first new episode we’ve had in nearly a month. When we last saw our doctors, our mouths were left agape at Owen’s revelation to Cristina that he had indeed been unfaithful. With the show’s time table, we’re picking up a week later, but to us viewers it seems like it’s been much longer.

Every doctor had something to do this hour, even if just for a small moment. Once again, I’m going to voice a tiny complaint that we seem to be shoving too much into every episode. Perhaps the episode didn’t need three relationship dramas, two patient stories (or four, depending on how you look at it), stem cell research, and a support group. But the theme of the hour, not to pet the lion (literally and figuratively), was woven together by… an actual lion.

Psych – Recap & Review – True Grits

Psych
True Grits

Original Air Date: Apr 4, 2012

anne@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s our second to last episode of the sixth season of Psych. We open on Lompoc Prison and a prisoner, Thane Woodson (Anthony Anderson) being released from prison after serving almost three years for a crime that he claimed he did not commit. A new group called The Innocent Project gave him the opportunity to be released so long as he could prove that someone else committed the crime. Then he would get his $100,000 restitution. His lawyer, who I never heard a name for, is played by Supernatural’s Rob Benedict.

They decide to go to Psych for help. The charges against him were burglary and armed robbery. Shawn and Gus feign being busy because they want nothing to do with this and don’t believe he’s innocent. But then Thane begins to talk about how much he’s lost and how he gave up his lady-love so she wouldn’t have to wait for him in prison. The story brings all three men to tears and they agree to help him.

I still don’t understand why the contestants have to do music from the ‘80s. Seriously, it doesn’t show you how they will do on today’s pop charts.

But that’s what the contestants had to do, plus a girl/guy duet. Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal served as mentors, although Tony didn’t contribute much.

Here’s how they did:

Kim continues to emerge as the player to beat. On the other hand, Chelsea continues to emerge as someone with as much game savvy as Kat.

This episode sets some things in motion, no question. Just exactly what those things are remains to be seen.

Biggest Loser 13 – Recap & Review – Week 14

Biggest Loser 13
Week 14

Original Air Date: April 3, 2012

Anne – Associate Editor
anne@thetwocentscorp.com

We have no excuses to focus on this week, because we are down to our final six and you know what that means! Makeovers! We open on Conda upset that Megan is gone because Megan was her best friend. It’s the hardest elimination she’s had to go through yet, but at least she still has her brother. They are the only pair left in the house. After that we go right into a challenge. They have to climb a cargo net, grab a baseball, run back down and put it in a slingshot to try to get it through a two pane window with their old picture on it. The first one to shoot through both panes wins a one pound advantage. The last one to get done gets a one pound disadvantage!

Oh! And Buddy finally gets to participate in this challenge as well! Which is good for him, because he finishes first and wins! Jeremy gets annoyed because he keeps missing, but he finally gets it and finishes fourth. So it comes down to either Conda or Chris. Chris gets it first, so Conda is stuck with the one pound disadvantage.
