Law & Order: SVU
Valentine’s Day

This episode of SVU involves sex, lies, manipulation, and all around awful behavior. Which is all pretty standard here, but in this case it’s coming from an unexpected source. And that’s…still pretty standard here.

A man on business travel stops to video chat with his wife, saying he’ll be home early for Valentine’s Day. Before they can celebrate, she goes to answer the door and is chased inside by a masked man

After much anxious waiting (and a recap show to get us caught back up) we finally get another new episode of one of the best new shows! When we left our handsome and well-dressed Hamptons friends, Daniel, charged with the shooting death of Tyler (which, lets be honest, was more of a public service, right?), was denied bail and sent to maximum security prison.

Somehow, I have a hard time picturing Daniel thriving in a maximum security prison, a consideration it might have been nice for the judge to make right? Of course, with Victoria as his mother, she’s certain to come up with some way of getting him out soon…

TheTwoCents Visits Warner Bros. Studio

Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour
Hennesy Street, Stage 18

Event Date: March 17, 2012

When TheTwoCents visited LA last month, we were in search of the true television fan experience. We definitely found it at the Warner Bros. Studio. With so many film classics under the Warner Bros. umbrella and hit shows like Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Pretty Little Liars and many more currently filming on the lot, there was plenty to see and learn! We toured the lot on a rainy Saturday – not ideal for star spotting (most shows don’t film on weekends), but perfect for the crowd who doesn’t want to miss out on visiting sets just because they’re closed for filming. We had an amazing tour guide who appreciated our pop culture proficiency, and got to see much more than we paid for. Our tour guide’s phrase of the day was, “We’re going rogue because I know you’ll love this!”

The most impressive parts of the studio are the extensive backlot sets. These permanent exterior sets are used for shows and films by Warner Bros. and many other studios – if you’ve ever watched television or seen a movie, you’ll definitely recognize some of these places!

Hennesy Street and Stage 18
Several of the Warner Bros. backlot sets are city-themed; there’s definitely a New York feel while still looking generic enough to easily transport us to any major hub. This is especially true of Hennesy Street, which we recognized from many of the Batman films, as well as shows like Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Top 7 Perform Again

Top 7 Perform Again

It seemed fitting that Ryan began the show with a tribute to TV and music pioneer Dick Clark. Ryan worked closely with Clark, America’s perennial teen, on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. Clark will be missed.

Then Ryan promised that this show would have more music than ever before on the Idol stage. Each of the seven contestants had to perform two songs from the theme Now and Then. The “now” had to be a song from 2000 to the present, while “then” had to be a song in the theme of Soul Train.

This was the first show without a guest mentor. It really wasn’t noticeable at all. In fact, it gave Jimmy more time to give even more insightful comments on each singer. Here is how they did:

Everyone has their own ways of dealing and coping with certain things in their life and the Pritchetts and Dunphys are no different. This week we deal with a death, a visiting family member and trying to find that one special memory.

Cameron’s father is in town! Merle Stonewall Tucker (Barry Corbin). And not everyone is excited about it. Cam’s convinced Jay doesn’t like his dad and he’s right. Jay even fakes sick, but Mitchell won’t have it.

It’s easiest to make a move when there are an odd number of players in the game. Everyone knows that. You only need a one-vote majority instead of a two-vote edge, which avoids a tie. With that in mind, plus seeing his own future in the game very much in jeopardy, Troy attempts a peasant revolt. However, Troy does not help himself in the least with his behavior.

In other news, one Survivor is stunned to find out that there’s bacon on a sandwich she won in the Survivor auction. Can you guess the sandwich and the Survivor?

Mr Schue has had enough. After spending the entire season not caring, he’s finally decided that Finn, Mercedes and Santana need to figure out what to do with their lives post-McKinley. Quinn and her wheelchair disappear entirely from this episode as Schue decides disco and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, as well as swag in the form of John Travolta’s famous white suit, are his solutions to helping the three wayward Seniors discover their dreams.

But most important of all, Unique is introduced and finally shows me that The Glee Project can turn out a star.

Did the glittery disco ball shine, or did it fall to the ground and shatter? Read on after the jump to find out.

Biggest Loser 13 – Recap & Review – Weeks 15 & 16

Biggest Loser 13
Weeks 15 & 16

Hey everybody! Welcome back for more Biggest Loser! I am sorry that I missed last week, so I am reviewing it along with this week. We have more time at the White House and then we have a shocking surprise that you won’t believe. Just a reminder from week 14 before we move on. Buddy had won a challenge and received a one pound advantage and Conda lost the challenge and received a one pound penalty. With that being said, here we go…

The gang and their families meet the First Lady and she goes around to each family and compliments the players on their weight loss. She amazes them with her knowledge about their lives from watching the show. You know, I’m still not sure about Dolvett’s suit. The plaid pattern just doesn’t suit him. But that’s just me, I guess. Also, Michelle Obama has kick-ass arms! After having a two week break from all these guys I have a new appreciation for all of them…except for Mark. He makes my skin crawl.

Farewell … Dick Clark

clark

Dick Clark, TV Icon

Even in recent years, while in poor health due to a stroke, I very much enjoyed tuning in to New Years Rocking Eve – just to share that moment with the legendary Dick Clark. It’s going to be a bittersweet New Years Eve this year. To make things worse, Ryan Seacrest will be very melodramatic I’m sure.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Dick Clark dies this morning after suffering a massive heart attack. The “perpetual teenager” was 82 years old.

Farewell sir! You will be missed!

We open on a fire burning through United Equinox. The firefighters manage to get it under control, but there’s one badly burned corpse at heart of the blaze. There’s also Confidential Navy files, which warrants our NCIS team called out to the scene. Whilst there, arson Investigator Jason King recognizes Anthony DiNozzo. Despite some negative tension between the two, they will have to work together to solve this case.
