There is a running theme on Once Upon a Time – your choices reflect your character and consequently determining your future. This is a life lesson I try to abide by – most of the time sometimes I fail. Failing is easy and life is a culmination of your good/bad choices – so choose wisely (else you’ll end up with a freaky case of Restless Wooden Leg Syndrome).

In Fairytale, Pinocchio saves Geppetto from the big bad whale – sacrificing his wooden life. Once on land, Geppetto finds a lifeless Pinocchio. Magic wooden boys need to breathe too! The Blue Fairy gives Pinocchio life as a human boy dressed like a drunken German yodeler.

Lots of people doing some growing up in this episode. Growing up can mean wearing make-up or nailing that account. It can also mean a lot of things you aren’t ready for like seeing something you shouldn’t or giving up your dreams.

There was a lot of women being happy for other women in this episode, both personally and professionally. I like those scenes especially the professional ones because it would be really easy and understandable for Peggy to be jealous and upset about any success Megan has. But she’s not.

After last week’s episode, it was a relief to see everyone get along or at least be polite to each other (for the most part).

Desperate Housewives – Recap & Review – Lost My Power

Mary Alice talks to us tonight about power and as the episode title suggests, losing that power. All the women (and a man) of Wisteria Lane have to come to grips with losing control over parts of their lives.

The problem is, I don’t care much about the problems in their lives anymore. Gaby and Carlos continue the same fight over his new job and her selfishness. Lynette continues to make bad decisions and wonder why she can’t get Tom back. And Bree’s trial moves forward at a snail’s pace.

This was a really bad time for such a poorly designed leg. One team makes a bad decision but it doesn’t mean anything. Another team makes a bad choice and IT doesn’t mean anything either.

This hasn’t been a great season and this wasn’t a great episode. One team over-obsesses about choices that other teams make. One person tells his partner to stop with the positive reinforcement. Good times all around.

I’m really grateful to see CSI:NY focusing on people in their teaser, instead of sensationalized parties with alcohol and sex or drugs. I find myself more intrigued. Two drivers en route, a business woman and two skateboarders are going about their routine… when they each stumble upon a body part. Can our CSIs piece this puzzle together?

Fringe – Recap & Review – World’s Apart

Fringe
World’s Apart

Walter has figured it out. On The Bridge, he tells both groups of Fringe Divisions what he believes is David Robert Jones’ goal: to collapse both universes, essentially causing a big bang and creating a new universe where he is the God and his weird flying porcupines are the new master race. Never mind that Walter came to this conclusion because of a dream he had, anything is possible, right? Fauxlivia brings up an important point: how could someone destroy two universes and survive to be the ‘god’ of a new one? Does anybody remember Westfield? That test town had a safe zone. An eye of the storm, if you will. The theory is that DRJ will hide out there with his minions when he destroys the worlds.

Speaking of… in Sydney, Beijing, Nepal, and our very own Manhattan, four people (who look strangely familiar, I might add) head to pre-determined coordinates spurred on by a watch counting down on their wrists. When the clock hits zero, the four seem to zone out as the ground beneath them begins to shake. Back on The Bridge, everyone’s cell phones start going off. There have been 27 minor earthquakes at the same time in the same places in both universes (I guess that means 54 quakes total). Jones!

We’re almost at the end of another season of Blue Bloods. I’m still holding my breath with Jamie’s undercover story, but for tonight, it’s safe to assume he’ll take a backseat to Erin and Danny, whose stories overlap each other.

Erin is deep in a murder trial when her key witness winds up dead. Her back up witness is then under Danny’s protection. While this is all going on, she gets an interesting job offer.

There isn’t any other way to describe this episode other than it was simply delightful. In what felt like a very Leverage vibe the Winchesters find themselves teamed up with real-life geek goddess Felicia Day, who plays a hacker extraordinaire called Charlie that would give Alec Hardison a run for his money.

Charlie works for the Dick Roman Empire and her mission begins when Frank Deveraux’s hard drive is handed to her by the head Leviathan himself to be decrypted.

“Wait!” the troll said, jumping in front of him. “This is my toll bridge. You have to pay a penny to go across.”

I cross a bridge almost every single day – going from Brooklyn into Manhattan. The subway fare is $2.25 each way – I consider part of that a toll. I guess that makes the MTA trolls. At least those trolls are only a money-grubbing inept monopoly that’s losing money (incompetence at its finest) and not murderous Hasslich. I’m always looking on the bright side!

For a penultimate episode, that was one emotional roller-coaster if there ever was one. There was a lot of moving parts and I tried to cover as much as I could without overwhelming you readers with details, but alas, I might have failed on that part. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to savor as much from this show as I can before it ends, or maybe I’m in denial…or both.

Anyway, we left off last week with James on the lam and Mary and Marshall the only ones to know where he really was via tracking device. So where is James?
