Two things to consider before I start this recap- first, the writers already seem to have outdone themselves packing weirdness into the last few episodes. Second, this is a season finale. Proceed with that in mind.

A guy finds a girl dead in his bed during his bachelor party. The first problem comes when he tells police that he found her drowned in his pool. The second comes when we learn he’s the police commissioner’s son.

Roots before branches is what Glee has felt like this past year, and for some reason this felt like the show throwing off its adolescent coat (well, mostly) as the finale drew to a close. It’s been a trying three years, for both the characters and the people who have come to adore them, and as the Seniors donned their robes and received their diplomas there was a bittersweet feeling about.

Failure, sacrifice and dreams were the main themes being thrown out, and I’m left to ponder how the show will carry on from here.

OK, this is the evening that really counts. It’s down to Jessica and Phillip in what many people are already saying is a done deal. Is it? We may never know.

Here’s how I see it. If Phillip wins, the teenage girls have had their way. If Jessica wins, then the producers have had their way. (To break the girls-can’t-win curse.)

Adding to Phillip’s dominance is the fact that he won the coin toss and wisely chose to go second. That means he ends the show, the perfect placement to make a lasting impression..

Here’s how they did:

It’s finally time to award the mirror ball trophy! And time to end the speculation and guesswork on who is going to take that trophy home. Most seasons, it’s pretty clear who the winner is going to be. Not this season though.

Will it be the Welsh Wiggler – a virtual unknown who has scored the most points of all the finalists? Or the Cuban Hottie, another unknown, whose good looks and Latin flair has made him a fan favorite? But don’t forget the Superbowl Champ, who has worked so hard and become this reviewer’s favorite.

KPonTV on Storage Wars Volume 1 & 2 on DVD

photo: a&e

As we get ready for the return of Storage Wars on A&E, let’s look back at the first two volumes that are now available on DVD.

I happened upon this show by accident. I was scrolling through the channels one weekend and found a Storage Wars marathon. Well, who would have thought, but this show hooked me right away. As I talked about in a recent podcast, it’s a reality show that I really really like.

The personalities of Jarrod & Brandi, Darryl, Dave and especially Barry made me want to watch more. Now, thanks to the DVDs I received at the office today, I can.

Farewell…Eugene Polley

polley

Eugene Polley, inventor

Couch potatoes should take a moment today and thank Eugene Polley, the inventor of the first wireless TV remote, for endless hours of channel surfing. Polley died May 20 of natural causes. He was 96.

In 1955, Polley, then an engineer for Zenith, developed the first gun-shaped wireless Flash-Matic, which pointed a beam of light at photo cells in the corners of the television screen. Each pump of the Flash-Matic’s trigger could change the channel or volume on their sets. Polley spent 47-years at Zenith and earned 18 TV-related patients. Along with fellow Zenith engineer Bob Alder, he was honored in 1997 with an Emmy for their pioneering work in TV remotes.

Farewell and a heartfelt thank you Mr. Polley.

True Blood Returns June 10

photo: hbo

The Emmy®-nominated TRUE BLOOD kicks off its 12-episode fifth season SUNDAY, JUNE 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the show takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source.

The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård). Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created and executive produces the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

Army Wives – Recap & Review – General Complications

Wow!!!! This was an amazing episode of Amy Wives and I cannot wait until June 24 for new episodes. Anyway, Roxy is stressed over money because of the new baby on the way but Trevor says that they are doing just fine. I would think so because of Trevor’s promotion and the Hump Bar is doing very well. We also get the news this week of who the Commander will be of Fort Marshall!

We all know that the race has been between Michael and Kevin. We find out that Michael has been chosen for the Commander position and this will get him hi third star! So, if you are team Holden, this is good news but not so good news if you are team Hart.
