CBS Announces Cast For Next Amazing Race, Includes Former NFL Teammates, Married ER Doctors, NHL Ice Crew Girls

CBS announced today the 11 teams that will embark on a sprint around the globe for $1 million dollars on the new season of THE AMAZING RACE, premiering Sunday, Sept. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Emmy Award winner Phil Keoghan (@philkeoghan) is the host.

THE AMAZING RACE has won the Emmy Award for “Outstanding Reality-Competition Program” nine times in the past 10 years. Currently, the series is nominated for its 10th Emmy in this category.

This season, which marks the 23nd race around the world for the series, will bring back the Double Express Pass twist that was introduced last season, in which the first Team to check in at the first pit stop will earn two “Express Passes” — one to keep for themselves and one that must be given to another Team by the end of the fifth leg of the Race.

As Teams travel through four continents and nine countries, spanning more than 35,000 miles, they will paraglide high above the skies of Iquique, Chile, subject themselves to a bone-chilling plunge in Norway and buckle up for Formula One Racing in Abu Dhabi.

This season’s diverse cast includes former NFL teammates, married ER doctors, theater performers, childhood friends, baseball wives, cousins and more.

Suits – Recap & Review – She’s Mine

Suits
She’s Mine

Original Air Date: Aug 27, 2013

Wyner C – Associate Staff Writer
wyner@thetwocentscorp.com

When you have a show about lawyers, you expect great liars. But this bunch is on another level. I’m glad I don’t work here – I’d be eaten alive! Let’s get cracking on this mind-f*ck of an episode where the real culprit of the Hessington pipeline murders is exposed, a cat custody battle gets nasty, someone gets their heart broken, and an expensive full-length mirror is shattered – this may lead to more than 7 years of bad luck (more like 30 years in the slammer).

Peacock interrupts Red and Lite’s romantic dinner to berate Stephen for single-handedly ruining Ava’s case. Lite, using his contacts, found the colonel and Cameron used this to find his star witness. They can never prove Pornstache wiretapped Lite – I mean the NSA does it all the time so it’s really not illegal anymore. Wiretapping is the norm – we shouldn’t expect privacy, right? I don’t – the government can read all of my emails, I live a boring and sad life. Anyway, Harvey warns Stephen that the next time Lite interferes, he will knock his accent back to Britain.

Helen’s risen from the dead and has offered her help to Annie. But, she’s also brought to light some longstanding issues for Annie and Auggie to deal with and ends with some heartbreaking results.

Things get tense (total understatement) as Auggie and Annie begin to deal with this new reality, his ex-girlfriend or wife, depending on who you ask, is still alive and working with Arthur.

The Newsroom
Red Team III

Original Air Date: Aug 25, 2013

Patricia Morris Buckley — Sr. Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

Finally, we get to the big pay-off of the season and probably the best episode of The Newsroom ever.

We learned more about the lawsuit that’s been framing the season (plus a shocking twist), the Genoa story is broadcast and the ACN team’s house of cards beginning to crumple. All with the sparkling dialogue we expect from Aaron Sorkin. Best of all, the emotional pay off came from all the character building he’s done throughout the season.

My heart’s still racing after this episode. So much building throughout, but those final scenes really had me in a total rush and there were two big “oh my gosh, did that just happen?” moments. So let’s not waste any time in getting to the recap.

We open with Todd calling Walt to tell him that Declan is no longer in the picture, that there’s been a “change in management” and that he should know. Todd’s ready to cook again, which is good because he’s heading back to Albuquerque with his uncle.

Make Your Own Kind Of Music

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor
karenbelgrad@thetwocentscorp.com

After this hour, there are only three episodes remaining. And tonight, we certainly steered the show towards the confrontations, stories, and plot that will be bringing us to a close. The only question is, with all the probable outcomes, how do you think the show will come to an end?

We finally have answers about the Brain Surgeon and how it overlaps with everything we’ve seen this season. But is it too little too late? Is it contrived beyond belief? Or is it just what the season needed to give it a shot of adrenaline as we head into the final weeks?

2013/2014 Show Score Card – Canceled, In Trouble, Renewed

graphic: kevin greene

Want to know how the 2013 – 2014 shows are doing? Want to keep track of the breaking news, rumors, hits, and misses during the 2013-2014 season??

TheTwoCents is here to help! Follow along with us in this post as we keep it all up to date as the information comes in!

New shows: Most new shows start off with a 13-episode order. If they’re a smash, the show will get a full season pick-up (or “back nine”, meaning nine additional episodes). If a show’s ratings are average or slightly above, a network may order three to six additional scripts. If ratings start off sluggish and continue to erode, the show is considered in trouble and isn’t long for the viewing world.

Returning shows: Many returning shows are currently in trouble of cancellation or are getting up there in age. The first few episodes of the season will make or break an established show, just like it does for a new show.

As premieres come (and sometimes go), existing show news is at an all time high. Updated on a breaking news basis, use this scorecard to keep track of all of your favorite shows as news happens! See what 2013-2014 shows are in danger of being canceled. Don’t see your show on here? Drop us a line and we can find info for you. Keep checking back and we’ll let you know as soon as the word comes down! We can’t possibly do every show on every network, but we’ll sure try!

We’ll call ’em as we see ’em! Could be:

  • Status Quo (no news is good news)
  • On The Bubble (Could go either way)
  • In Trouble (rumors of cancellation)
  • Renewed (full season or back-nine)
  • Canceled
  • Or whatever else we come up with to spread the word.

Leading up to the highly anticipated debut of “Pretty Little Liars” spinoff “Ravenswood,” ABC Family will launch the #RavenswoodReveal challenge during the summer finale episode of “Pretty Little Liars,” airing Tuesday, August 27th (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT). Fans who take part in the challenge will be rewarded with a special clue about the world of “Ravenswood.”

Reinventing the chain letter, series star Tyler Blackburn (@tylerjblackburn) will kick off the challenge by tweeting a portion of a photo that reveals a clue into the mystery of “Ravenswood.” Once Tyler’s tweet is retweeted 1022 times, in honor of the October 22 premiere date, his castmates Nicole Gale Anderson (@HeyItsNicoleA), Brett Dier (@BrettDier), Britne Oldford (@BritneOldford) and Merritt Patterson (@merrittpattrsn) will tweet out subsequent portions of the photo. Each new piece will only be triggered after the previous portion has been retweeted 1022 times. Once all of the photo pieces are unlocked, fans will need to assemble the pieces and the resulting photo will divulge a tantalizing secret about Ravenswood.

Graceland
King’s Castle

Original Air Date: Aug 22, 2013

Jules – Senior News Editor
jules@thetwocentscorp.com

The residents of Graceland are a mess with too many secrets and lies running a muck. This week we begin to hit the peak of this insanity and it doesn’t look to be getting any better.

We open a year and a half ago, the Graceland crew is out drinking and Briggs tells Johnny that an agent can only kill in the field in self-defense and can’t be under any influences because then the story would be less credible. Cut to Briggs back on the beach – drunk and having just killed Juan.
