TwoCents and Five Questions with Gabriel Macht (Suits)

do i look amused?

Gabriel Macht, Actor

Gabriel Macht got his start in the entertainment business as a model. Google him someday, there are some great pictures out there. Another little interesting fact is that he’s married to actress Jacinda Barrett, who got her start on The Real World: London.

Along the way, Gabriel has appeared in many films and televisions shows. In 2008, he earned himself a cult following after starring in the comic adaptation, “The Spirit”. In 2010, he was cast as Harvey Specter in USA’s Suits. The second season premiere of the show aired last Thursday, June 14, and Gabriel wanted to talk about what to expect this season and more in a recent interview.

TheTwoCents: Can you talk about how Hardman’s return is going to affect the whole dynamic of everybody at the firm?

TwoCents and Five Questions with Elijah Wood (Wilfred)

is ryan crazy?

Elijah Wood, Actor

When I say the name Elijah Wood, what comes to mind? Chances are, most of you thought of “Lord of the Rings,” am I right? Yes, he played Frodo in the famed trilogy and will reprise that role in the upcoming “The Hobbit”.

But for the last year, Elijah has also been doing a little show on FX called Wilfred. It is a television show based on an Australian show by the same name. Elijah plays Ryan, a manic depressive who is the only one who sees his neighbor, Jenna’s, dog (Wilfred) as a man (Jason Gann) in a dog suit. Together they have many adventures, learn strange life lessons, and smoke a lot of weed. Elijah was very excited to discuss life on the set and the upcoming second season of the show on a recent conference call.

TheTwoCents: Why do you think that Ryan continues to stay with Wilfred despite all the schemes and all the lies?

Dallas – Recap & Review – The Price You Pay

Dallas
The Price You Pay

Original Air Date: Jun 20, 2012

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor

Last week’s Dallas had great ratings for a summer cable show, nearly 7 million viewers. Of course, that pales when you remember that approximately 83 million people turned in to find out “Who Shot J.R.?” in 1980, but most ratings do these days. But if the viewers stay tuned, we look to have a bona fide summer hit on our hands.

And as long as they keep J.R. and John Ross front and center, I think the show will thrive. Those two, with Bobby and Sue Ellen (who was sadly absent tonight) to bounce off of, really are the gold (black gold!) to be found on the show. And while some of the other stories have potential, there’s some that need to end sooner than later.

TBS Aquires Rights to 2 Broke Girls

2 girls on tbs

TBS has acquired the off-network rights to 2 Broke Girls, the breakout hit comedy created by Emmy® winner/executive producer Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City) and white-hot comedian Whitney Cummings (Whitney). Television’s #1 new series of the 2011–12 season with adults 18–49 and the #1 new comedy among total viewers, 2 Broke Girls is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television and is set to join the TBS lineup in 2015.

“When 2 Broke Girls premiered last fall, it immediately found its audience and appeared to us to be a perfect fit for TBS,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “With its funny and endearing lead performances, a terrific supporting cast and sharp writing, 2 Broke Girls brings a fresh, contemporary, attitude to the classic sitcom format. I didn’t realize until the episode was almost over that this was part 1 of 2! Maybe this is why last night’s was continued? Perhaps this will be the week that Chef Ramsay has been wanting all year.

The night begins as last night’s left off- with Patrick, Danielle & Guy on the chopping block. Chef Ramsay sends Patrick back in line, and sends Danielle packing. Dana immediately begins to cry. Danielle was her best friend here at Hell’s Kitchen (as well as an alliance partner) and she did not want her to leave.

MasterChef – Recap & Review – Top 15 Compete

MasterChef
Top 15 Compete

Original Air Date: Jun 19, 2012

Last night’s MaterChef was definitely worth watching. Not only was the Mystery Box challenge disgusting enough that I cringed when I saw it in the promo the night before, but Ryan was just an amazing jerk. Even my husband, who only half watches because it’s on in the background, said he wanted to watch the smirk get knocked off Ryan’s face.

There were no group challenges, but the team leaders for the next challenge were picked, and neither of them are people who’ve held “authority” positions in team challenges before. In fact, one of them has been mostly in the background all season so far. I’m excited to see how well they do next week. But first, the top 15 compete!

Design Star – Recap & Review – Episode 4

Design Star
Episode 4

Original Air Date: June 29, 2012

Patricia Morris Buckley — Sr. Staff Writer
pmb@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s funny how people can fool you. You hear someone gripe and whine. Do you take pity on them? Not if they are a contestant on a reality show. Eventually, they’ll show their true colors by, oh say, episode 4.

This week the remaining eight designers tackled a large task. They had to redesign a home inside and out. Luckily, it was broken into smaller chunks. There were two identical houses, each handled by a team of four. Each team then broke into teams of two, selecting with the indoors (just the living area) or the outdoors. They had three days and the help of a handyman.

Emily – TwoCents Reviewer

Welcome back Pretty Little Liars fans! Wow, there were a lot of confrontations in this episode, right? I got to say, I love the liars’ new attitude of just not backing down. They’re still scared, but now they’re more pissed off. Awesome!

This week, we got to see why Ezra is simply the best, Emily is no longer “poor Em,” Lucas does not know how to use a shower and Mona gets even crazier. Seriously, what’s up with that girl? Let’s dig in…
