Army Wives
Fatal Retraction

Wow! Just wow! That is all I have to say after this episode of Army Wives! I have been counting down the days until the season continued and this episode did not fail to amaze me. This show is just so good. You don’t seen any other shows out there that show in a very real way what Army Wives go through in real life. Anyway, the show starts off where it ended with Claudia Joy in cardiac arrest in the operating room.

For a few seconds that felt like hours, Claudia Joy’s heart would not start but finally it did and she made it through the surgery. When Michael is told what had happened during the surgery, we see him break down because he almost lost his wife. Claudia Joy also does not take the news well but at least her kidney is working perfectly.

Things are heating up as the teams dismantle, for judging purposes, and those who were sliding by on the good work of their team mates must now stand on their own work alone. Finally! Now we can watch as those who don’t have it are picked off one by one and the cream of the crop can rise!

I started watching this episode completely convinced that finally Malcolm would be gone, and stop getting in the way of others who had more to offer. Let’s just say, I was shocked at who ended up on the bottom, and missed out on their chance to attend the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.

TwoCents and Five Questions with Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer)

is she ready for the end?

Kyra Sedgwick, Actor

I think most of you know who Kyra Sedgwick is and who she plays on television, but let me refresh your memory. She is both a Golden Globe and Emmy winner for her role on TNT’s The Closer. The show is sadly coming to a close and while many of the characters will be moving on to Major Crimes, Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra’s character) will only perhaps make a rare cameo. It was her decision to end the show this summer after its final six episodes, but how does she feel about it? And what does she think people will remember about her character? Read on to learn more!

TheTwoCents: Why did you decide it was time to leave, and did it have anything to do with Kevin (Bacon) getting his show, because I know you all have tried to stay with the kids from time-to-time, was that part of it or how did that work?

Tonight on a glacially paced episode that nevertheless had its moments (I’m still chuckling over “i-stake”), Pam and Jason spend the entire hour moping (although for Jason moping involves seducing cat ladies), Tara is very, very angry, and Bill and Eric get seduced. We also get some fun flashbacks to Pam’s vampire birth and to that magic moment when Eric met his real one true love, Bill Compton.

War is a-coming to Pearson Hardman. Jessica is maneuvering her soldiers in place; as is Daniel Hardman. Pre-war preparations are being made and allegiances are being pledged. Offices are being carved and egos are being wounded. Daniel is renovating without Jessica’s knowledge. That’s an open declaration of war. Let the fighting begin!

Jessica is trying to solidify support from voting partners. She wants Harvey to “close” these folks. Unfortunately, everyone hates Harvey – he’s considered a dick (their words, not mine). The only department Harvey hasn’t alienated is Bankruptcy (because contact has been minimal). Being right all the time leads people to dislike you – then why do people love Einstein? Can it be the delivery? Cockiness = hate; eccentric genius = loveable?

Special Preview Episode – Progress

Kym – TwoCents Reviewer

The first season of Wilfred left us full of questions. Why could only Ryan hear Wilfred? Was Wilfred real? Was Ryan crazy? Or dead? And what was up with the basement/closet? So I went into this “special preview episode” before June 28th season premiere hoping for some glimpse of the direction the show would take us this season.

At the outset of this episode, I thought I was getting that.
