TwoCents and Five Questions with Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice)

how will she get out?

Gabrielle Anwar, Actor

Gabrielle Anwar has been a part of many big movies and television shows. She tangoed with Al Pacino in Scent of A Woman and played Margaret Tudor on Showtime’s The Tudors. In 1994, the British actress was unsurprisingly named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful Women in the World”. But the role that I love her for is the one she’s played for the last six years on the USA network’s Burn Notice. Fiona Glenanne is one bad-ass, name-taking, and sexy woman. Her adventures with Michael, Sam, and Jesse are exciting to watch. But this season, Fiona finds herself in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Gabrielle had a lot to share about her role on the show. So grab a blueberry yogurt, sit back, and enjoy!

TheTwoCents: You play so many different personalities on the show when you’re undercover. Can you talk about that, and is it more challenging?

HISTORY Announces Additional Cast in VIKINGS Scripted Series

vikings adds to cast

HISTORY announced today additional casting for its new scripted series, VIKINGS, including Travis Fimmel (The Beast, Baytown Outlaws) as Ragnar, the first great Viking leader, a man of both history and myth; Jessalyn Gilsig (Glee, Heroes, CSI: NY, Nip/Tuck, Friday Night Lights, Somewhere Slow) as Siggy, Earl Haraldson’s beautiful wife; Gustaf Skarsgard (The Way Back) as Floki, a close friend of Ragnar’s who is an eccentric jokester yet an inventive, creative boat-builder; Clive Standen (Camelot, Robin Hood) as Rollo, Ragnar’s excessive, cruel cousin; and Katheryn Winnick (Stand Up Guys, A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, Bones, Love and Other Drugs) as Lagertha, Ragnar’s first wife and famous shield maiden who often fights alongside him.

Johan Renck (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead) and Ken Girotti (Rescue Me, Law & Order: Criminal Intent) are set to direct multiple episodes of the series. The announcement was made by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager, HISTORY and Lifetime Networks.
They join previously announced Golden Globe® Award winner and Emmy® Award nominated actor Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment, Usual Suspects, Millers Crossing) who will star as Earl Haraldson, the most important local ruler in Ragnar’s district, and George Blagden (Les Miserables, Wrath of the Titans) who will play Athelstan, an Anglo-Saxon monk captured by Ragnar on his first raid on England.
VIKINGS will be a series high on adventure, exploration, conflict, warfare and bloodshed – for these were extreme times – but, at its heart, it will also be a family saga. It follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, a historical figure, and the greatest hero of his age – and the gripping sagas of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family – as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes.

Now that we’ve safely settled into Dallas (version 2012), I feel it’s time for my tiny complaint to be heard… The opening credits aren’t right. Sure, the theme song and scenery are right, but they are missing the triple pictorials that I just adored way back in the day. Check out (click here) what I am referring to and let me know if you agree!

This episode did a better job of weaving the new cast in with the old guard, but there’s still a discrepancy on my interest level. No matter how enamored I am with Patrick Duffy’s hair (he’s kind of the original McDreamy, isn’t he?), there’s still more to be desired from the stories and scenes that aren’t directly related to J.R. So let’s cover our bases with what went on this hour…

Lauren A – Senior Reviewer

It’s a bad day to be a Hastings. Melissa is molting, Spencer is threatening to run away, and Mama Hastings is in the middle of a show down with not-quite son Jason DiLaurentis. Things aren’t much better for Hanna, who proves that her witty retorts are no match for her bad luck with all things beginning with the letter C: Computers, Cars, and Calebs. Meanwhile, Aria tries to set Ella up on a date, and Emily gets cozy with Maya’s cousin. Luckily none of these happenings get interrupted by any creepy text messages… oh, wait.

Still annoyed and upset by her mother’s choice to defend Garrett during his trial, Spencer and the Liars set out to discover Mama Hastings’ ulterior motive. They’re fueled in part by Jason, who has offered a reward for information about Alison’s missing remains. The reward is for $50,000, which seemed a little steep to me considering a few of Ali’s teeth are missing. I guess Jason doesn’t know that, though.

JD – Sr. Staff Writer

Last night’s MasterChef brought back the Mystery Box, as usual, but at least this week’s wasn’t as icky as the one before. In fact, it was a pretty easy box. No one struggled too much, but in the end we were left with a winner that was totally unexpected.

What wasn’t so easy was the elimination test. Two of the strongest cooks fell to the bottom of the pack, and one I never thought I’d have reason to compliment produced something beautiful and tasty! Read on to find out who…
