CBS Un-Cancels “Unforgettable,” Will Return Summer 2013

CBS canceled its freshmen drama series “Unforgettable” back in May, but today the network announced via Twitter that the show is coming back for a second season.

The tweet reads, “@un4gettableCBS fans. It’s official, the series will return to CBS for summer 2013. ‪#Unforgettable.”

Unforgettable stars Poppy Montgomery as a detective who remembers just about everything.

TNT Orders Second Season of Hit Series DALLAS

TNT has renewed the hit series Dallas for a second season. The Warner Horizon Television-produced drama, which ranks as basic cable’s #1 new series, is currently averaging 6.9 million viewers in its first season. TNT has ordered 15 episodes for its second season, which is slated to air in 2013.

Currently airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), TNT’s Dallas marks the return to Southfork of J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing, who bring with them their arsenal of secrets, schemes and betrayals. This time, they’re joined by the next generation of Ewings, who take ambition and deception to a new level. The series stars Josh Henderson as John Ross, the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing; Jesse Metcalfe as Christopher, Bobby’s adopted son; Jordana Brewster as Elena Ramos, John Ross’ girlfriend; Julie Gonzalo as Rebecca Sutter, Christopher’s wife; and Brenda Strong as Bobby’s wife, Ann. They are joined by the original series’ iconic stars: Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen Ewing and Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing.

TNT Books Fourth Season of Rizzoli and Isles

TNT has ordered a fourth season of its hit drama Rizzoli & Isles, from Warner Horizon Television. The series has drawn 7.1 million viewers in its new Tuesday 9 p.m. timeslot and ranks as summer’s #1 returning scripted series on basic cable. TNT has ordered 15 episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, with the fourth season slated for 2013.

Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander star in Rizzoli & Isles, which was developed for television by executive producer Janet Tamaro from characters created by best-selling crime novelist Tess Gerritsen. In the series, Harmon plays Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Alexander is Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry and strong working relationship that lets them solve complex murder mysteries in the city of Boston.

“Jessica is still the head of this firm. I’m here in a number two capacity,” says Daniel Hardman.
“Number two as in the crap I took this morning,” thinks Jessica Pearson. Ah, yes, the first senior partner meeting since Daniel’s return. Fun times!

To put Daniel in his place (too bad it’s not on the streets), Jessica assigns Harvey a nurses’ union negotiation case instead of handing it to Daniel. It’s spiteful but Hardman’s Mother Theresa act is creepy so I’m Team Pearson. The nurses are ready to strike but Harvey isn’t budging – he’s going to argue for an injunction.

Farewell…Doris Singleton

Best known as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo’s neighbor and occasional nemesis Carolyn Appleby on “I Love Lucy,” Doris Singleton died Tuesday in Los Angeles. She was 92.

The actress and comedienne recurred on the classic sitcom in 10 episodes from 1953-1957. Singleton then went on to appear alongside Ball on many of her other shows through the years including episodes of “The Lucy Show” and “Here’s Lucy” as well as the 1980 telepic “Lucy Moves to NBC.” The New York native also appeared in many other TV shows, including The Great Gildersleeve, as a series regular on the short-lived 60s series Angel and roles in Adventures of Superman, Hogan’s Heroes, My Three Sons, Hazel, The Munsters, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., The Fugitive, The F.B.I., Dynasty and Days of Our Lives.

Singleton began her life in show business as a featured dancer with the American Ballet Theater in her teens, before moving into a career in radio, where she performed at times with the likes of George Burns & Gracie Allens, Bob Hope and Jack Benny.

Singleton’s husband Charles Isaacs, a comedy writer, director and producer to whom she was married for 61 years, died in 2002

The CW Announces Fall 2012 Premiere Dates

The CW Network will strategically roll-out its 2012-13 season this October with the premieres of three new series, returning favorites on new nights and one final season of Upper East Side drama.

Rachel Bilson returns to Bluebell, Alabama as Dr. Zoë Hart in the second season premiere of HART OF DIXIE on Tuesday, October 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).

The CW’s newly revamped Wednesday kicks off on October 3 with The Winchester boys and the season premiere of SUPERNATURAL (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).
