Week One

And they’re off! With a brand-new competition, intense game play, and a few loose cannons, even the Big Brother coaches couldn’t rein in the show’s first week of gameplay.

HOH Willie (Team Britney) attacked two early favorites and put the rest of the houseguests on their guard by stirring up lots of drama. Even the spiral-happy Have-Not room was crazier than normal, and that was only the beginning of the week’s twists and turns.

TwoCents and Five Questions with Heidi Klum (Project Runway)

in or auf

Heidi Klum, Model & TV Host

Project Runway is coming back to Lifetime tonight and Heidi Klum is ready! It’s the tenth season of the show and it will be a nice refresher after the less than stellar All-Star edition that suffered a little bit by not having the usual host and judges. Heidi has had a tumultuous year in her personal life, so she’s happy to get back to what she does best; saying “Auf Wiedersehen” to the designer who fails to impress the judges each week. Luckily she was saying, “Guten Tag” to us on a recent conference call. Read on and make it work!

TheTwoCents: What’s it been like being back for the tenth season for you, as the host and judge?

For all of last week’s episode, where so little seemed to happen, that I took the time to point out what wasn’t working on Dallas 2012, this week’s episode finally ramped up the action. For this week we finally got what has been missing in Texas… a body count.

Now, not to toot my own horn, but I declared the deceased’s time was running out a few episodes ago. But where I counted on a whodunit, this episode definitely zigged where I expected it to zag. But we’re definitely set-up for a roller coaster for the remaining episodes of this inaugural season!

This episode of MasterChef gave us an unexpected guest for our Mystery Box challenge, and to be perfectly honest, I was a little annoyed at all the gushing and oohing and aahing. However, it brought out an unexpected comeback for David, even if that comeback didn’t last very long.

The elimination challenge that brought an end to the excitement was a first for MasterChef, and turned out to be pretty insane. Like a team challenge on crack. It definitely did not turn out how I thought it would…

Design Star – Recap & Review – The Yurts

Contestants may have to think big to be on Design Star, but the Final Three also had to think small for this challenge.

Last season, the designers had to decorate a tiny, one-room house (this is where Meg really came out on top, easily making her the eventual winner). This year, they had to tackle Yurts, a small round room with a conical top. They had two days and a HGTV carpenter at their disposal. They also had to produce two video challenges, one with their carpenter telling about a project they were doing and a second at the end with a tour of their completed Yurt.

AMC’s The Walking Dead Featured at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

photo: amc

Caught in the middle of a high-intensity struggle for survival, you fight off hordes of flesh-hungry, growling “walkers,” or zombies. No place is safe as you make your way through a post-apocalyptic wasteland with horror at every turn. Will you survive?

This fall, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are joining forces with AMC’s “The Walking Dead” for their Halloween Horror Nights events. Visitors to both theme parks will be able to experience the horror of AMC’s blockbuster original series, “The Walking Dead,” in elaborately themed, haunted mazes. It marks the first-time Universal Studios has featured a television series at Halloween Horror Nights on both coasts.

TwoCents and Five Questions with Gaius Charles (Necessary Roughness)

will he play?

Gaius Charles, Actor

Gaius Charles is now and probably for awhile will be best known for his role as Brian “Smash” Williams in the fan favorite Friday Night Light’s. If you haven’t seen it, watch it! Gaius has also guest starred on Law & Order: SVU and Pan Am and had minor roles in a couple movies as well. This fall he will start a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy, which I can’t wait for! But currently, Gaius is back on the football field playing a wide receiver candidate for the New York Hawks on Necessary Roughness. He gets to tangle with Terrence “TK” King and search out the care of Dr. Dani, resident sports therapist. Gaius was happy to talk with us about his guest starring role and how he prepared. Clear eyes, full hearts, read on!

TheTwoCents: I’m wondering what it’s like for you to play this humble character that you have to play opposite such a bigger than life character like TK, who is somewhat similar to your character in Friday Night Lights but even bigger.

OK, so it is safe to say that this show is definitely giving us a hell of a season, as I thoroughly enjoyed this episode as much, if not more, than last weeks. I guess one of the main reasons is because of the tension between Joan and Lena was palpable…and I loved every scene they had. But my money is always on Joan.

The other reason I loved it: watching Perabo and Gorham and their chemistry on-screen is just wonderful. I loved the fact Annie and Auggie were back out in the field working together. I have wanted since season 1, for an episode where they posed as a married couple. Wasn’t quite as romantic as I wished, but still….

Cowboys! This episode of MasterChef brought out the wild, wild, west with 101 cowboys and enough beef to feed a small army. Our cooks battled the stench of manure (according to Monti, though no one else mentioned it) to feed the hungry men and women, all while trying to work with a wrench the judges threw into their team work.

All that hard work took three cooks to a pressure test of a much more delicate nature: eggs.
