Many of my friends have said to me, “Why did YOU” go to Comic Con? You aren’t into comics.” True. But in all reality, Comic Con is no longer just a comics convention. My best description of Comic Con now is that it is a celebration of pop culture. I went, as I tell my friends, “to join in the pop culture party!”. For me, this was also a trip about doing something outside of my normal comfort zone. Over the past few years I haven’t been as comfortable in crowds, or hanging out with people who are outside my close circle of friends. So, this was an attempt to change some of that and grow a bit as well.
I bought my ticket to Comic Con in approximately March of this year when they went on sale. Last year, I considered going, but did not have the knowledge of when/where to get tickets. This year, though, I was prepared. As soon as I got the email from Comic Con (you had to first sign up for a Comic Con User Account) with the on sale date/time, I made sure that I would be available. I had prepared myself to not get a ticket, because I heard how quickly they sell out. Luckily, though, after a little over an hour wait time online, I was able to purchase a 4 day pass with preview night.
