True Blood – Recap & Review – In the Beginning

True Blood
In the Beginning

Original Air Date: Jul 22, 2012

Meg – Staff Writer
meg@thetwocentscorp.com

Our friends in Bon Temps are not having a good day. As if being turned into a vampire stripper against her will wasn’t enough, tonight Tara’s useless mother shows up and yells at her about it. Jessica and Jason have a murderous lover’s spat, while Hoyt finds himself kidnapped by a hate group. None of this even remotely compares to Lafayette’s day which involves him being kidnapped and ritually carved by a psychopath.

Amid this Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, there are some moments of light, as we finally get a glimpse of vampire goddess Lilith and Eric and Bill frolic through the streets of New Orleans. Granted, they do this as part of a murderous rampage, but this is True Blood, so what would you expect?

Army Wives
Baby Steps

Original Air Date: Jul 22, 2012

Will – Associate Staff Writer
will@thetwocentscorp.com

This week was more of a continuation of last weeks episode where Trevor and Roxy are fighting about Chase’s job offer to Trevor. Roxy is liking the compensation package and they get to get out of the Army. Trevor and the family will be in a stable area but Trevor is a soldier for the Army through and through. We also get to see some more of Sophie, the Clark’s daughter. Clearly, we see that Sophie has a better relationship with Kevin than she does with Jackie.

We also get to see another new face and this is Roxy’s mother. If you think Roxy is crazy, then get a good look at Marty. When she walks in, I thought I was looking at twins because they both look so alike.

Breaking Bad
Madrigal

Original Air Date: Jul 22, 2012

Jules – News Editor
jules@thetwocentscorp.com

We are into our second episode of season five and Breaking Bad is still as good as ever. Boy do I enjoy the drama this show brings out. This week we get to explore the life of Mike and learn how to like this “bad guy.” Elsewhere, the DEA draws closer while Walt’s busy making plans to start anew in the world of meth dealing.

First up though, another interesting opening sequence for our 13 times Emmy nominated show. (Yay on all the well deserved nods!)
