No More McSteamy On Grey’s Anatomy

goodbye mr. dane

According to TVLine.com, Eric Dane, whose Dr. Mark Sloan looked on in horror as his soul mate Lexie (Chyler Leigh) passed away from her own injuries suffered in the plane crash, has decided to leave the ABC medical drama after six years, to pursue other opportunities. However, Grey’s fans have not yet seen the very last of him.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone at Grey’s, ABC and Shondaland for the experience and memories I have had over the course of this run,” Dane tells TVLine exclusively. “It has been wonderful to work alongside and learn from a creative force such as Shonda Rhimes.”

In a statement to TVLine, Rhimes called McSteamy “one of the most beloved characters on Grey’s Anatomy.” She added that Dane “did not come to this decision lightly, but after much consideration and conversations, he and I have decided that this is the right time for his storyline to end.

Dallas – Recap & Review – No Good Deed

After tonight, we have two episodes left in our inaugural season of Dallas version 2012. And while it will wait until next summer for new episodes (assuming TNT doesn’t plan a winter season), I’m also holding on to cautious optimism that the show will pick up on some of the steamier aspects of prime time soap-dome.

Think about it… the closest we got to shirtless beefcake tonight was a doctor examining John Ross. The show has had plenty of underhanded dealings, double crossings, and secrets, but it is sorely lacking in the “steam” department. And the angry kiss that ended tonight’s episode does not count. So while tonight was lacking in sexy, it did not lack for story momentum, so let’s check in…

Design Star
The Finale

Original Air Date: Jul 25, 2012

After nine inspired and emotional weeks, the seventh Design Star has been crowned. And I have to say I’m thrilled with the choice!

The battle came down to Danielle and Britany, who had won the same number of episodes (that includes the one where they worked on as a team). And in an interesting twist, both these contestants were strong designers, but struggled with being comfortable on the camera.

Like last year, their challenge was to create a five-minute pilot for their proposed design show. They had three days to transform an adjoining living and dinning rooms in the homes of their clients. To help them, they were each assigned two of the last four eliminated contestants, a handyman and a producer with a camera crew.

When you get down to this many cooks, it starts to get hard to call any of them bad. Some of them are hit or miss, but the pressure of the challenges could be to blame. This episode cast off one of my favorites, and I already miss her.

The judges gave the cooks an aquatic bottom feeder, freaking out many of the cooks with its squirming. It made for some great laughs, and I have to think even Joe was smiling on the inside. The elimination challenge changed the tone later, finding one of the cooks shockingly unprepared, and landing two of our most talented cooks in the bottom three.

It’s clear that this season will be about discovery of Neal’s past and we begin to get that in this episode. But the highlight was really Peter undercover and disobeying orders (for the most part).

It takes three episodes in, but Neal is finally back at his old desk, clean shaven and in a suit again. It’s nice to have you back. Too bad Peter is not there as well, but Peter takes it all in stride even if it kind of sucks.
