Breaking Bad
Fifty-One

Original Air Date: Aug 5, 2012

Jules – News Editor
jules@thetwocentscorp.com

Walt’s fifty-first birthday is here and in the “Breaking Bad” world, a whole year has passed since his journey began. And as we look back at this past year, which actually has been over five seasons, I can’t help but wonder what we’ve been through in this calendar year and how we’ll make it to fifty-two, assuming we get to see that future Walt.

We begin the episode with Walt and Junior picking up the trusty Astek, which I’m assuming was being fixed post “Crawl Space” episode. Walt soon gets a crazy idea to sell the car to the mechanic. Cut to later when both Walters roll into the driveway with their new rides. But no worries Skyler, Walt didn’t buy them, he just leased them to keep up appearances.

OK, so it’s super Saturday at the Olympics meaning 25 finals are happening in 11 events. Crazy, no? So that means a lot going on that will be great. This is what I’m most looking forward too because seeing those women run that fast is crazy amazing. Don’t miss other finals throughout the day. Should be fun.

Big Brother 14
Week Three

Lauren A – Senior Reviewer

Things are really (un)twisted in the Big Brother house this week! Janelle’s team starts to implode when two of her players face the threat of eviction, coaches and houseguests team up against Team Boogie, and Julie Chen makes an announcement that could reset the whole game.

America voted to give the coaches a chance to enter the game (at least that’s what Julie tells us), and the house is in shock. So, did any of the coaches take their opportunity to push that giant RESET button and dissolve the teams and the coaches twist? Read on…

My TwoCents: RIP Nate Westen, But What About Seth?

the fabulous seth peterson

Last night, we laid Nate Westen to rest, but what about the actor who has portrayed him for five years, Seth Peterson? He certainly wasn’t happy to be killed off, but that’s Hollywood!

Honestly, a month ago I might not have thought twice about what would happen to him. But about two weeks ago, a friend and I were responding to a tweet from the Burn Notice account asking for Michael. Out of nowhere, Seth tweets us asking if he’ll do. Umm, yeah! It’s the first time an actor has ever reached out to me. I followed him immediately and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.

He actually reads all his tweets and tries to respond to as many as he can. He’s not just a tv/movie star, he’s a friend. He’s incredibly down to earth and he shares so much with us. He posts poetry, zombie haikus (he really digs zombies), pictures, and lots of other great stuff! Plus he really jokes around with you almost like you’re family. That’s what we are really, a giant dysfunctional family. He asked me to extend an invitation to everyone reading this to come and join Team Seth (@sethpetersonla) to see for yourself. Believe me, you won’t regret it!!

Harvey is secretly Chinese, who knew?! As Chinese, I’ve been raised to equate emotion with weakness. I was taught this asinine attitude while Harvey acquired it through experience. Either way, we’re both in the same emotionless vacuum holding onto our bottled feelings. This coping mechanism is very effective – I’ve gone through ups and downs without having to take any medication (legal or illegal).

Through experience, I’ve also learned emotion doesn’t always equal weakness – drizzle some feelings under the right circumstance and it works miracles. If a police officer stops me for running a light – tears, snot, it all helps.
