Breaking Bad
Dead Freight

Original Air Date: Aug 12, 2012

I have to say I was worried about where this episode was going this week, pushing the guys to their limits of what was possible, but in the end, it was an episode with the expected and the unexpected and I quite enjoyed it.

We open with a kid on his dirt bike buzzing in what we can only assume as the middle of nowhere and all of a sudden stops to notice a tarantula (who does that?), traps it with a glass jar he just happens to have and moves on just as we hear a train passing through. Random, but the show always shows us stuff for a reason.

Olympic Viewing Guide – Sunday, August 12

Every day during the London Olympics, TheTwoCents will be posting viewing options of the games, including the main event of the day and an event that might otherwise be off your radar, and also something to watch if you get tired of the five-ring Olympic circus. It may not be your top choices of the day, but it’ll be what we are most looking forward to.

Main Event
Men’s Marathon – 6AM ET, NBC

No, it’s not just a bunch of Kenyans. Americans Ryan Hall (of the AT&T commercials) and Meb Keflezighi (of the Citibank commercials) are legitimate medal contenders. Olympic marathons are typically not fast but strategic races. It should be fun to watch.

Main Event
Women’s Basketball Gold Medal Game – 4PM ET, NBC

This U.S. women’s basketball team is an incredible collection of talent. They play all phases of the game well but are especially good defensively.

Truth

“The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable.” James A. Garfield

First, I have to confess, I missed the first couple of minutes due to a DVR malfunction, so if there was a great joke or something I missed, please let me know. Moving on, things are getting more serious with Amanda this week. Ryan has invited her to move in with him. Wilfred is jealous and tension is high. And that’s before the earthquake.

Olympic Viewing Guide – Friday, August 10

Every day during the London Olympics, TheTwoCents will be posting viewing options of the games, including the main event of the day and an event that might otherwise be off your radar, and also something to watch if you get tired of the five-ring Olympic circus. It may not be your top choices of the day, but it’ll be what we are most looking forward to.

Main Event
Women’s 4×100 and Men’s 4×400 Relays – 8PM ET, NBC

Relays are always exciting and these two will be no exception. The Women’s 4×100 should be a close contest between the US and Jamaica. The Men’s 4×400 is usually a guaranteed medal for the U.S. but not this time. The competition is pretty even. In fact, the U.S. didn’t have a single runner in the 400-meter final.

Wyner C – Senior Reviewer

What were your dreams and aspirations half a decade ago? Mine? To find a job – any job. I know I’m not ambitious. At least I’m not in retail (nothing wrong with that) with a Harvard law degree (something very sad about that).

Our favorite conniving lawyers (and fake-lawyer) had dreams too. Their past shaped their present. Their choices lead them to here – Pearson Hardman divided. Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see if the past will help the law firm’s future.

Burn Notice
Unchained

Original Air Date: Aug 9, 2012

Alyssa Silva – Associate Staff Writer
alyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

Unchained means to release from or as if from chains or bonds. To set free. This episode seems to address the repercussions of Nate’s death on Michael and how in order to avenge him, Michael needed to become unchained from the guilt that still haunts him. How does he do this? By becoming Bobby Doyle, a Boston criminal who needs to pass on information to Quinn, a fugitive mob boss that is the only thing that stands between Michael and a lead on Nate’s killer.

2012/2013 Show Score Card – Canceled, In Trouble, Renewed

graphic: kevin greene

For the 2013-2014 Scorecard, Click Here
Want to know how the 2012 – 2013 shows are doing? Want to keep track of the breaking news, rumors, hits, and misses during the 2012-2013 season??

TheTwoCents is here to help! Follow along with us in this post as we keep it all up to date as the information comes in!

New shows: Most new shows start off with a 13-episode order. If they’re a smash, the show will get a full season pick-up (or “back nine”, meaning nine additional episodes). If a show’s ratings are average or slightly above, a network may order three to six additional scripts. If ratings start off sluggish and continue to erode, the show is considered in trouble and isn’t long for the viewing world.

Returning shows: Many returning shows are currently in trouble of cancellation or are getting up there in age. The first few episodes of the season will make or break an established show, just like it does for a new show.

As premieres come (and sometimes go), existing show news is at an all time high. Updated on a breaking news basis, use this scorecard to keep track of all of your favorite shows as news happens! See what 2012/2013 shows are in danger of being canceled. Don’t see your show on here? Drop us a line and we can find info for you. Keep checking back and we’ll let you know as soon as the word comes down! We can’t possibly do every show on every network, but we’ll sure try!

We’ll call ’em as we see ’em! Could be:

  • On The Bubble (Could go either way)
  • In Trouble (rumors of cancellation)
