My TwoCents: Five Reasons You Really Should Be Watching Wilfred

wilfred & ryan

Maybe you’ve heard of Wilfred, maybe you haven’t, but either way, if you’re not already watching, you should be – and I’ll tell you my reasons why, in no particular order.

1. Elijah Wood – Wood’s portrayal of Ryan is flawless, as if even he, as the actor, believes what his character sees and feels. His confusion and angst are palpable, even at his funniest moments. And it can’t be easy playing next to a man in a dog suit.

2. Jason Gann – Gann is hilariously brilliant as the title dog, Wilfred, mixing just the right amount of typical dog behaviors with the seriousness of a guru and leading Ryan along the journey of life.

We ended last week with a game changer of sorts; I mean Todd shooting someone wasn’t really in the plan that Walt and Jesse had when they were going to steal from a moving train. So now the team has to deal with the consequences.

And from this derailment in their plans, changes are in store that could possibly be leading to the end game…? We’ll see.

As we gear up for next week’s season finale, tonight’s episode was all about setting up the action for the finale. Power crazy Bill is ready to face off with (read: murder) the other members of The Authority who all believe they are only The Chosen One (it’s very Highlander-esque).

Meanwhile, Russell makes his way to the Moulin Fae to eat our protagonist.

Sorry everyone that I’m running a little late on this recap. School started back this week and it has been crazy! Anyway, we leave off the last episode in an emotional state and we begin this one with just as much emotion. As soon as the show starts, we learn that Kevin is paralyzed and there is no answer whether or not this is a permanent condition.

As you might imagine, Jackie is absolutely devastated with this development but she does what she can to help Kevin. She makes the house more convenient for him to get around in his wheelchair.

My TwoCents: A Veb Series That’s Got Bite

vlad & vestucia

Anybody who knows me well knows that my favorite television shows of all time are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (really anything born of Joss Whedon, but I digress…). I adore vampires. I first became enamored with them when I saw “Interview with the Vampire” in the early 90’s and my love affair has only grown since.

Three weeks ago, I wrote another piece about Seth Peterson, who guest starred in a web series called “Curve Your Vampirism.” It was through him that I discovered the show, but I started from the beginning and I’ve become fascinated with the humor and talent found in each episode. I wanted to tell you a little more about the series and the awesome people behind it. Before we start talking about it, take a look at the first episode!
