Don’t you hate it when the person you want to win the least takes the grand prize after all? But that’s reality TV and in this case, the first Design Star All Star.

We started out with the three finalists — Leslie, Tom and Hilari. Their challenge? To design three different spaces (a place to sleep, a place to eat and a place to sit) in a 20’ by 7’ re-purposed shipping container. They also had a deck they needed to make functional. Hilari, who was eliminated in the tiny yurt challenge this last season, felt a terrible sense of déjà vu. I didn’t blame her. The contestants had two days and the help of a carpenter.

This week we were down to five cooks, and there wasn’t a one of them that you can say didn’t deserve to be there. Sure, we all have our favorites (let’s go Monti and Christine!) and they have their good and bad nights, but after David finally went home, I sort of feel like there isn’t anyone left that you can say “they suck” about and be able to back it up. And to be clear, David didn’t suck either; he was just more inconsistent that the rest, and that sucked.

Everyone had a completely different Mystery Box this week, and the elimination challenge featured a dish with the presidential stamp of approval. Let’s just right in to the cooking!

This week’s episode was not as good as the past episodes, but you have to give Annie credit for convincing Joan to let her go after her first asset. The episode revolved around her finding ways to get with Sayid and to tell you the truth, it bored me.

You know the saying: The blind leading the blind, well that was Auggie’s field trip for his new therapist. He takes her out, blindfolds her and gives her lesson 101 on what it feels like to be blind out on the streets. At the end of the lesson we learn a bit more about Auggie and his deep feelings. Let’s get started…

CBS announced today that three former Survivors – Michael Skupin, Jonathan Penner and Russell Swan – will join the 15 previously announced castaways in three separate tribes on SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES . The Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 25th season with a special 90-minute edition, Wednesday, Sept. 19 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

After being medically evacuated from the game, these Survivor all-stars return to finish what they started and for one more chance at the million dollar prize.

· Michael Skupin – SURVIVOR: AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK (2001). First-ever medical evacuation on the series due to severe burns received after passing out into a fire from smoke inhalation on Day 17.

“You don’t want to leave. The longer you are here, the longer you want to stay here. And it’s not even about winning as much as playing. The winning will be anti-climatic. The playing is where it is for me.” – Skupin, before being airlifted off the island.

Who’s ready for a full on treasure hunt? I know I was. I am a sucker for a good treasure hunt story line. Last year’s one with the will was great seeing Peter all giddy and this week it’s all about Mozzie. He’s trying to find proof of a secret spy group dating back to the Revolutionary War.

There’s a lot of moving parts and a lot of information, so don’t fault the reviewer who may have missed some details. Be known that this episode includes spies, clues, pin-hole cameras and puppets and lots of Mozzie. Are you ready?

KPonTV on The Office’s Final Season

kp with creed bratton

WOW.

In a conference call with the media today, Greg Daniels (the man who brought The Office to the US) stated that the upcoming season 9 will be the final season for The Office.

I’m the first to admit that this show has found a way to roll downhill that past few years, but the first 4 or 5 seasons were great, and even 6, 7 & 8 had some stellar moments. Season 1 and 2 were television GENIUS.

I was at The Office Convention in Scranton. I’ve watched every episode. I have a copy of “Pam’s” drawing of the office signed by Jenna Fischer and a World’s Best Boss coffee mug signed by Steve Carell. I was in love with Pam and wanted to be best friends with Jim. I can’t watch the Kool-Aid man without thinking of Kevin. Creed makes me howl in laughter. Dwight taught us the right way to ask a QUESTION!
