Top 6 Perform, 2 Eliminated

Not only are the actual competitors dancing with all-stars tonight, but they will also be paired together and then perform a solo as we get ready to head into the finals. Three dances in one night!! Christina Applegate is back to make up new dance terms. This time it’s “hairography.” She can say whatever she wants. I adore her and wish Samantha Who was still on the air.

There were some really amazing dances tonight—nearly all getting nothing but high praise—but we still have to send one more boy and one more girl packing and this time there is no judges’ vote to save them.

Going into this episode of MasterChef, I was torn. Do I want Christine and Becky to go forward? Or do I want Christine and Josh to go to the final two? There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to see Christine pull through; it was her and Monti that I wanted to be the final two originally, right up until Monti’s unfortunate avocado-heavy cream debacle. But now, do I want to chick who screams talent and has since day one, or the dude who screams talent, but almost lost it all when he was eliminated early? Becky answered that question for me during this episode before the Mystery Box winner was ever called.

The Mystery Box was good to the cooks this week, handing them free reign over their meals, but the elimination challenge was anything but nice. It sent one cook home only one step from the final two, after all.

I actually saw some leaves falling this weekend. The pumpkins in my garden are already orange. Fall is definitely on its way. Along with it? Cider, Halloween and FALL TV!

I’ve seen the new show pilots and in this series, I’ll highlight the ones I think could “WIN” and those that I think will “LOSE” this year.

Keep in mind, I thought The Big Bang Theory was going to be awful after seeing the pilot and I thought Journeyman would last for years. So, these aren’t facts – they are simply my opinion. After-all, isn’t that what a TV Critic is supposed to do?

Yesterday I shared my thoughts for New TV Comedy Winners, let’s continue with the Losing New Comedies:

TNT Greenlights Dwayne Johnson’s The Hero

photo: tnt

TNT has given the greenlight to The Hero (working title), a new reality-competition series that will set out to find the next great hero. TNT has ordered eight episodes of the series from Ben Silverman’s multimedia entertainment studio Electus and its 5×5 Media exclusive producers. The Hero will be headlined by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who will executive-produce with his producing partner, Dany Garcia. The series is set to premiere on TNT in summer 2013.

The Hero will bring 10 ordinary people together in a house and then assign them various missions that will test their brains, their brawn and even their morality. The show will challenge the competitors to prove they’ve got what it takes to be heroes, pushing them to the limits to see what they are willing (and able) to overcome, undergo or sacrifice for the sake of their fellow contestants.
Johnson will serve as The Hero’s mentor and motivator, encouraging the contestants to reach far beyond their personal limits. In the end, one player will rise above the others, overcoming obstacles he/she never thought possible in order to become a true hero.

Covert Affairs
Glass Spider

Original Air Date: Sept 4, 2012

First of all let me just say that the writers, directors and all the staff on this show did a hell of a job on this episode! Chris Gorham has been telling us for the past week that this show and the following 2 episodes are a must see, and I am here to tell you that I agree and won’t miss it for anything. This season is getting better and better and now I will tell you about Glass Spider.

I had to laugh at the excitement in Annie as she learns they are headed for Jai’s safe-house and Auggie tells her that he investigated off book and went against Arthur’s orders. He has been doing the same thing she has, but just on a much lighter scale. Two pea’s in a pod. The weird icky feeling for me would be seeing my boyfriends face plastered all over Jai’s wall.

A change of pace episode with Mozzie and Peter working together, or sort of. I think they are my new duo that I want to see more of. And for better or for worse, Alex is back!

She’s been tied to a case where Neal was undercover trying to stealing antiquities. Neal actually ends up caught and put in a squad car by an unknowing officer. It’s quite fun. Peter asks Neal to contact her and they meet up for the first time since Adler died. It’s an interesting reunion to say the least. Neal’s curious about Alex spending some time in jail and her involvement on this case. She doesn’t give in…yet.
