“I’m gonna send you all my sad friends.” How can you not appreciate a show that has that quote? Chandler Bing, (okay fine, his name is Ryan King in this show) is being forced to attend group therapy sessions to cope with the loss of his wife before he can return back to work as a sportscaster.

Is it even legal for a boss to force someone to do therapy like that? It makes me question the entire premise of the show… But since I love Chander, er Matthew Perry, I will let it slide.

Switched At Birth – Recap & Review – The Intruder

Switched At Birth
The Intruder

Original Air Date: Sep 10, 2012

Karen Belgrad – Senior Editor

Welcome back for another week of our favorite multi-family family drama! Last week a reader (and D.W. Moffett via Twitter) corrected me and let me know that this back portion of season one will actually only be eight episodes, as opposed to the previously announced ten episodes. But not to fear, because no sooner will the show leave us in the fall, it will return in the winter.

This week’s episode was jam packed with nearly every character in the Switched At Birth universe making an appearance, including a new friend for Bay. But the biggest fallout comes from the impulsive decision Regina made at the end of last week’s episode. So how did the drama play out? Keep reading!

TwoCents and Five Questions with Christine Ha & Josh Marks (MasterChef)

MasterChef

Christine Ha and Josh Marks, Cheftestants, MasterChef

When I recap and review competition shows, I tend not to make any bones about the fact that I love an underdog, and as far as underdogs go, this season’s MasterChef has been a treasure trove. The show, in and of itself, is for underdogs, after all. The competitors aren’t successful chefs with careers in food, just looking to take their passion to the national stage. The contestants on MasterChef are straight out of the home kitchen.

I think this season’s home cooks have been my favorite group so far. From Monti and Stacey, to Felix and Frank, so many of them touched my heart and made me cheer. It seems only fitting, though, that the cooks left standing as the final two are the biggest underdogs of them all: the legally blind Christine Ha, and Josh Marks, a cook that was sent home in week 12, only to be brought back for redemption. I recently had an opportunity to speak with them about their experiences on the show, and the upcoming finale.

TheTwoCents:Congratulations to both of you. What was the one ingredient for both of you that neither one of you were looking to see in a mystery box?

Doctor Who – Recap & Review – Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

Doctor Who
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

Original Air Date: Sep 8, 2012

The Doctor has just saved Queen Nefertiti’s people but she won’t let him leave it at that. She is trying to, erm, pay him back, when the Doctor receives a message on his physic paper. It’s urgent, and she’s not leaving him, so he drags her along. There’s a mysterious spaceship about to collide with Earth in 2367AD and there’s a ticking clock because when it gets too close the Indian Space Agency is planning to send missiles. The Doctor scans the ship and then goes off to get a crew.

His first stop is the African Plains of year 1902AD where he picks up Big Game Hunter John Riddell (Rupert Graves) and then he materializes around the Ponds, including Rory’s dad Brian (Mark Williams) who had been replacing a light bulb at the time, complaining that he thought it was the fitting. Brian is rather surprised and he drops the light bulb. Poor Brian. He doesn’t travel much, apart from to the shops and to golf. Now, he’s on a spaceship. With Dinosaurs!

A Glee-sical Retrospective: Pt III

Glee is days away from its Season Four premiere. In anticipation of that I thought I would take a look back at the past three seasons discography and cherry pick my Top 12 favourites from each. Despite the fact that I have become a cynical, jaded Glee fan, the music has remained a steadfast reprieve from the actual, well, plot (if we can even call it that).

So here are my picks in no particular order for Season Three, also known as the the season I wanted to break up with Glee.

KPonTV on Fall 2012 – New Drama Losers

I actually saw some leaves falling this weekend. The pumpkins in my garden are already orange. Fall is definitely on its way. Along with it? Cider, Halloween and FALL TV!

I’ve seen the new show pilots and in this series, I’ll highlight the ones I think could “WIN” and those that I think will “LOSE” this year.

Keep in mind, I thought The Big Bang Theory was going to be awful after seeing the pilot and I thought Journeyman would last for years. So, these aren’t facts – they are simply my opinion. After-all, isn’t that what a TV Critic is supposed to do?

I’ve already shared my thoughts for New TV Comedy Winners, New TV Comedy Losers and New TV Drama Winners. Let’s finish it off with Losing New Dramas:
