Bravo Celebrates 10th Anniversary of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” with All-Day Marathon

Bravo Media embarks on a milestone as Monday, July 15 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Emmy Award-winning series “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and pays homage with a marathon from 6a.m. – 5p.m. ET/PT, highlighting the “best of” from all five seasons including the series premiere (7/15/03) and finale (10/30/07). The series, which starred “The Fab Five,” including Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez, ran from 2003-2007 and followed the men as they performed a “make-better” on someone by revamping his wardrobe, upgrading his home décor, and offering overall lifestyle advice. Bravo’s launch of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” pushed boundaries for diversity in reality television.

The critically-acclaimed, cutting-edge series received numerous accolades including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program, three GLAAD Media Awards nominations and two wins for Outstanding Reality Program in addition to raves by Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, and The Associated Press, among others.

Cinemax’s Strike Back Returns for Third Season August 9

The Emmy®-nominated breakout hit STRIKE BACK returns for its ten-episode third season FRIDAY, AUG. 9 (10:00-10:50 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on CINEMAX, followed by other episodes debuting subsequent Fridays at the same time. Philip Winchester (“Crusoe,” “Camelot”) and Sullivan Stapleton (“Animal Kingdom,” the upcoming “300: Rise of an Empire”) reprise their onscreen partnership as counterterrorism operatives Sgt. Michael Stonebridge and Sgt. Damien Scott. HBO/CINEMAX again teams up with the production company Left Bank Pictures and the British channel Sky on the action series.

The returning cast also includes Rhona Mitra (“Underworld: Rise of the Lycans”) as Maj. Rachel Dalton, Michelle Lukes (“Alexander”) as Sgt. Julia Richmond and Liam Garrigan (“Pillars of the Earth”) as Sgt. Liam Baxter.

After a week off to celebrate the Fourth of July, our favorite home cooks return to a guest judge. The viewers are enticed to watch with the tease of “the worst dish in four years” (meaning the entire existence of the show) as well as the “most surprising elimination ever.”

Guest judge Eva Longoria comes out from underneath the largest Mystery Box ever and promotes her new restaurant in Las Vegas, which is apparently a feminine steakhouse. She has handpicked the items in the mystery box.

DIRECTV Announces October 9 Premiere for New Drama and Returning Comedy Series

dtvDIRECTV announced today that Full Circle, the original drama from renowned writer Neil LaBute, will premiere Wednesday, October 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Two episodes of the half-hour drama will air back-to-back weekly on DIRECTV’s Audience, while all 10 episodes will be available immediately eon DIRECTV Everywhere. Also on October 9, the network will premiere its comedies Less Than Kind and Call Me Fitz.

The 10 episode Full Circle marks the television debut of award-winning screenwriter and playwright Neil LaBute (The Shape of Things, In the Company of Men). The series examines the human condition and relationships through a series of conversations between 11 people whose lives, unbeknownst to them, are intertwined. Each episode takes place in a restaurant and features a conversation between two characters, with one of the character’s storylines carrying over into the next episode through a conversation with a new character and that character then being featured in the following episode. The process continues until the final episode.

Haven’t we all wondered “what if?” at some point? What if we chose a different path in our lives? What if a different path was chosen for us? How might our lives have turned out differently?

Tonight’s episode of Switched At Birth is all about the “what ifs” of those choices. And it was a either a well spent hour showing how things might have been or a waste of an hour. That will all depend on how you feel about “stunt” episodes. Because, with the exception of the last seconds, nothing that happened will effect much of what we see going forward.
