more revolution, new normal, go on

On the heels of winning its first premiere week in the A18-49 demographic in nine years, NBC has picked up three of its new fall series – the adventure-drama “Revolution” and the comedies “Go On” and “The New Normal” — for full-season commitments for the 2012-13 season, it was announced today by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.

“We’re impressed with the imagination and creative direction of the entire team on ‘Revolution,’ not to mention the immediately strong response we got from the audience,” said Salke. “Ordering the full season of this show is a pleasure. Thanks to J.J. Abrams, Erik Kripke, Jon Favreau, and everyone at Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television for their dedication to making a truly unique series. And I personally love to escape into a world where there is no power, the phone doesn’t ring, and the pace of life slows down — if only for one hour a week!”

How great is it to open up an episode with Castle and Beckett together? I’m still blissfully in the honeymoon stage of this. I don’t know how many of you were concerned about the Moonlighting curse, but since these two are still calling each other by their last names and still have that delightfully snarky humor, I’m going to say there’s nothing to worry about right now. At any rate, Beckett’s biggest concern is that they’ll be found out. She does, after all, work with a room full of detective. Castle is predictably unconcerned, but he mistakenly forgot to bring her coffee when he arrived on the scene (because she’d already had some) and Esposito noticed.

The victim is a seasoned, busty weather girl. At first glance this looks like a mugging gone wrong, but since we’ve never had one of those, I’m not surprised when Lanie points out that the blood spatter and bruising is not consistent. Someone tried to make it look like a mugging. I always love these morgue scenes. Tamela Jones is excellent in her delivery, and I love how as Beckett’s best friend she quickly deduces that something is up. She literally hits it right on the head until Beckett manages to imply that the guy in question is someone Lanie hasn’t met.

After a very good first night of All Stars season last week, the stars need to step it up on this second night of dancing. And they did. The stars seemed to get rid of their opening night jitters and really put the work into the technique.

The nine paddle makes it’s first, albeit brief appearance tonight. Read on to find out who earned the first nine – not an easy feat with this tough competition and judging.

The clear line has been drawn in the Kennish-Vasquez household. We’ve now entered official adults versus teens mode. And while everyone may have valid points, there is definitely some area that is less than gray.

Usually when Bay is behaving, Daphne is acting the brat, and vice versa. But I’m going to go out on a limb against both of their actions this episode. And then I trust all of you to share your TwoCents with me as well.

I have to admit that I loved this episode a little more than I should have, only because I hate to say that I liked seeing Sweets and the new Girl Friday take the reins. At first I wasn’t so sure of this Olivia Sparling, but she definitely worked out just fine.

As for the murder, the scene takes place in a parking garage where a guy is blown up from a bomb in a Big Gulp type drink. The sickie in me has to admit that when the intestine falls on Hodgins, I was a bit thrilled at the gore, yet gagging at the thought of it happening.

I’m going to be blunt: probably the most obvious thing we learn for the first two-thirds tonight’s episode is that, despite how he’s progressed, Barney is still capable of being a noun that I’m going to let you fill in yourself just in case children read this.

Other things we learn include the fact that Robin has a bit of an interesting turn-on, it’s harder than we might think to get rid of Victoria’s ex-fiancé, and that Marshall is lucky to have survived infancy without being maimed by his own family.
