This week, someone goes crazy, someone forgets what she said and thinks she said the opposite, someone makes a pretty savvy move.

And the thing you kind of hope happens just because you’re interested in seeing how far it goes, happens.

Supernatural – Recap & Review – We Need To Talk About Kevin

We Need To Talk About Kevin

Jeremy Carver’s return has made the show something old and something new. When we left Season 7 Sam was left all alone on Earth, Dean and Castiel were transported to Purgatory, and Kevin the Prophet found himself in the hands of Crowley. While Sam and Dean being separated for ridiculous periods of time might seem redundant story-wise (remember every single time either brother has gone to Hell?), Season 8’s premiere was more a gentle reawakening of the differences between both brothers and the acceptance of these differences by Sam and Dean individually.

NCIS – Recap & Review – Recovery

NCIS
Recovery

Original Air Date: Oct 02, 2012

Maria – Associate Staff Writer

It’s an Abby-centric episode as her old phobias have returned. Since the bomb she has refused to enter autopsy, and when she does, the lights cut out and she sees herself on the autopsy table. She wakes from her nightmare and calls Gibbs to comfort her. He tries, but hopefully Miles Wolf (guest-star Steve Valentine,) who has been employed to give mandatory psyche evaluations to all NCIS workers, will have some luck.

NCIS bullpen is almost looking like it did before the bomb, especially with Navy Facilities Manager Judy Ford heading the repairs. DiNozzo has been putting the moves on her, but to no avail. Things are getting back to normal, but a car has been found in a lake, belonging to a woman from the NCIS armory, who went missing soon after the incident: Margaret “Midge” Watkins, and her corpse is inside!

Surprisingly enough, the focus group discussion is all focused around Ryan this week. I like him. He’s the main person on the show. And he’s funny. He even says to Lauren he knows he’s the special one in the group. But do we ever get to hear about the other people’s problems?

This week, Ryan is having visions of his wife. She’s appearing to him to tell him really important things like he needs to go grocery shopping. Maybe his wife did all the shopping/cooking/adult things in their house—-but he didn’t know he needed to shop? Also, his wife appears in nothing but a button-down shirt of Ryan’s. I mean, I guess if you’re gonna see a ghost, they should look sexy, but it still seems odd.

Parenthood – Recap & Review – The Talk

Parenthood
The Talk

Hi all, this is my first week recapping Parenthood and it’s yet another solid episode with your regular dose of drama, bickering, screaming and “aww” moments.

Seeing the title I wasn’t sure what “the talk” was going to be and who was going to have it, but it ended up being my favorite storylines of the week. I love this show for taking moments and making them so much bigger, but not in an outlandish way, just in an every day way. So let’s see what the Bravermans were up to this week.

Mourning Sickness

Last week, we learned of the passing of one of the show’s original characters. This hour, we come together to mourn him with all of the Seaside family. And as we all know, everyone grieves in their own way.

This was not a typical episode of the show from a structure standpoint, but if you thought a Balinese-themed gathering would be enough to keep them from focusing on their own problems… well, think again. From karaoke to espresso beans to ganja to guardianship, this was perhaps no more of a chatty hour than usual, but it certainly felt that way. So let’s dive into the conversations, from the sad moments to the absurd.

Jess is still sorta seeing the guy she met as Katie, and she’s finding it hard to keep up a relationship based on casual sex. Nick is refusing to give her any advice and is definitely against Schmidt’s idea that they all go out that night under the pretext of helping her feel more comfortable. However, Schmidt ends up bailing in favor of trying to befriend Kanye at a local club and drags Winston with him (to prove that he can “be friends with black people”).

If you’re into the whole Nick/Jess thing, you may like that this leaves them both at a fancy restaurant alone.

Last week we were forced to see the end of a very important character on the show. Opie is now gone and we have to face this week without him and we have to watch his funeral this week as we say goodbye.

Jax now has to find a way to work with Pope and convince the rest of the club to do the same or find a way to defeat him. This death is going to put Jax on a darker path than anyone could have imagined him going through. He is going to potentially see what it is like to be Clay and all of the difficult decisions that he has had to make over the last 40 years.

Dancing With the Stars
Week 2 Results

Original Air Date: Oct 2, 2012

Annette – Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

Another two hour elimination night – sigh. In hour one the judges take turns selecting a defining dance for each of the stars from their previous appearances. The stars then give us a little background about how they felt during that dance.

I do like getting to go back and see some of the old dances. A little trip down memory lane, as it were. But, we’re here for elimination. So is it a shocker tonight? Read on to find out!
