After a slightly longer than usual hiatus, 90210 returned tonight for its fifth season premiere. If you don’t remember what happened in last season’s finale, let me give you a quick refresher: Max left his fiancé for Naomi, Silver asked Teddy to have a baby with her, Liam’s movie got a sequel and Vanessa came back as his manager, Ivy left for Mexico to find Diego, Annie and her soon-to-be-priest boyfriend broke up, Adrianna left for Vegas with Austin, and Dixon got in a serious car accident.

Tonight’s premiere revealed the fate of Dixon after his terrible car accident, as well as Teddy’s decision about having a baby with Silver. We also saw Max & Naomi have a wild adventure on the way to Nevada, and saw a former regular return.

Who was the surprise guest? Read on for tonight’s character breakdown.

Switched At Birth – Recap & Review – We Are The Kraken Of Our Own Sinking Ships

We Are The Kraken Of Our Own Sinking Ships

This hour was all about the title, at list for our two titular daughters, as both daughters found themselves clearly boarding sinking ships. And one of the glaring issues with their story lines came to light.

In the past, largely through Emmett, the Vasquez-Kennish girls were largely intertwined in their lives. But so far, this season, they are very isolated in their plots. So, the obvious solution is… more Emmett. And thanks to Toby, that should hopefully be happening sooner than later.

Dancing With the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 3

Dancing With the Stars
Week 3

It’s Iconic Dance week. The stars were challenged to take routines from the past and make them the most creative dances ever. What we end up getting are living statues, giant chess pieces and live animals, sort of.

Everyone did really well tongiht, but a couple of stars who were in the middle of the pack the last two weeks really shined tonight. And there were two “bombshell” announcements.

NBC Delays Return of “Community” and “Whitney”

photo: nbc

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has pushed back the return date for Community and Whitney. Community, about to air is fourth season, and Whitney, on its second season, would have both returned Friday, October 19 until this delay. No new air date has been determined.

This would be the second time Community’s return has been delayed. Last season, the show was left off the mid-season scheduled and returned three months after its last episode.

NBC statement: “Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks – including winning the first week of the season in A18-49 — we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold Community and Whitney from their previously announced premieres of October 19th. Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week — plus we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of Whitney and Community.”

Important news of the day: Marvin Waitforit Erikson is ridiculously cute. Like, photo contest and baby model cute. None of that means he isn’t a handful, though, especially when Mickey Aldrin comes to “visit” after burning down his home.

Also, future Ted has told us several times now that this is going to be the season of breakups. Just last week, Barney and Quinn fell victim. So why are Ted and Robin playing Happy Relationship Wars with each other? I have no idea.

666 Park Avenue
Murmurations

666 Park Avenue starts its second episode off in a fairly quiet way. The Drake is being cleaned and prepped for the day. Tony, the bellman, and Jane are walking down the hallway discussing Mr. Barlow’s disappearance. (If you remember from the first episode, he had been pulled into the bedroom wall by an unknown force). Jane is confused about Mr. Barlow simply moving out, thinking that there is paperwork that should e completed if a resident leaves. After inspecting Barlow’s apartment, Jane walks into the bedroom and hears noises coming from the wall. Peeling wallpaper back, she finds a hollow space in the wall and a flock of birds fly out, startling her. The birds fly through the apartment and break through the window, flying high into the sky, just past Gavin’s window, where he observes with a smirk on his face.

Brian goes to visit Louise in the hospital. Alexis arrives, bringing Louise some items from she and Brian’s apartment. Later in the episode, we find out that Alexis had made copies of the keys when Brian sees a reflection in his steamed up mirror. Alexis startles him and seduces him.

Killer Vacation

The Smiths are going on vacation this week and it looks like it’s going to be a good time for everyone but Steve. At least until Stan gets a call from the boss. Under threat of humiliation on TV, he promises not to work on vacation, but can he actually do it? And will Hayley and Jeff reconnect? And do we really want to know what Roger is up to this time?

Mostly though, what will Steve find to do on his own?

The Griffins are on a family outing this week, taking Stewie on his first tour of the firehouse. A very different experience from their first trip there with Meg – when they tried to abandon her as a baby. I don’t think Lois really understands “loneliness” as it applies to NBA players versus fireman and their guide’s demonstration of fighting a fire with his bare hands is, interesting. I’ve never seen a fire like that. We find out when they get home that Chris had hired a stand-in because he hates the firehouse and that this all has nothing to do with this week’s show.

Instead – the Griffins are about to become a Nielsen family and I’m afraid, very afraid.

Once Upon a Time – Recap & Review – We Are Both

Once Upon a Time
We Are Both

Original Air Date: Oct 7, 2012

Wyner C – Senior Reviewer

Once again, the theme of “we are our choices” rears its rational/sensible head. We make choices that affect not only our future, but other people’s lives. We are responsible for our actions – they define us. How do you want to be labeled? Obviously not a power-hungry-magic-freak…unless you’re Rumpel or Regina, then it’s a compliment.

In Fairytale (the past), Regina tries to run away before her wedding to the king. She’s stopped by her mother’s magic and brought back to be prostituted out for Cora’s dream. The young, naïve Regina resists – she wants to be free. Mother says power is freedom – she’s so scary.
