Dancing With the Stars
Week 5

Due to the Presidential debate, this week’s show is only one hour and the competition will be done over two nights. I’m guessing this means that there is no elimination this week, because Tuesday night’s show is also only one hour.

As for tonight, four couples will dance their individual guilty pleasure dance and the other four will do their team dance. Tomorrow night they will switch. But, on to this first half of competition.

The promotions for this episode promised shocking, mind-blowing surprises that would rock viewers to their very core. Was I that shocked by the last ten seconds? Nah. I’ve watched enough daytime television that unless Regina was revealed to be her own evil twin, that very little surprises me. But, is it a game changer? Absolutely.

Before those last few seconds, the episode did a pretty recent job of wrapping up some of the hours loose ends. So let’s cover what happened, discuss what we think will happen, and give our TwoCents about everything along the way.

This week we learn a valuable lesson. A guy comes in with five long boxes of comics for sale. Walt can’t wait to get in there and start motorboating though them, but there’s a problem. The seller is looking for $5,000 for the comics, but they have been stored (bagged, not boarded or sealed) in the basement of his cigar shop for fifteen years. The comics are all smoke-damaged. Walt and the gang find a few gems in the collection and offer to buy them, smoke-damage and all but the seller wants to keep the collection together. No sale.

Walt spots an advertisement for an upcoming auction and he decides to challenge Ming and Mike to see who can come back from the auction with the most valuable haul. Each team will have $500 to spend and the loser has to re-enact Fantastic Four Annual #3 – featuring the wedding of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Susan Storm (the Invisible Girl).

So Hershel is lying on the floor out cold (and sans foot), there are Walkers at the door, and five survivors in the kitchen. Before niceties can be exchanged, Rick and company regroup and get Hershel the hell out of there, fighting their way through Walkers and back to Cell Block C. The women folk begin to work on Hershel and Rick tells Glenn to stay by Hershel’s side in case… you know. Everyone is infected, right? Rick has to see to the five prison survivors who followed them back to Cell Block C. This is not going to end well.

The prisoners have been locked in the cafeteria for about 10 months. A riot broke out and they have been waiting for the national guard or army to sweep in and take care of things. But what they really want to know is why aren’t they taking Hershel to a hospital? And, hey, why did these civilians break in to a prison? They really have no idea about the practical fall of man. When it begins to dawn on them the gravity of the situation in the outside world, their leader (Tomas) declares finders keepers. Since they were in the prison first, they get to stay. Rick and his group have to leave.

How pissed is Diane when she gets mad? Enough to fire up the entire firm. One look at the deserted 27th floor, which they had to give up due to poor finances, gets her ready to win their current case and its $7 million judgment. I love this Diane!

The case is a hazing by the university water polo team that ended with a new member dead after having his head held under water for too long. Someone is already in jail for the crime, but Diane represents the parents suing the university because the coaches knew of the hazing ritual. Remind you of any case you might have heard of? Yep, that one.
