We open on Bryan telling the Comic Book Men (CBM) about how, when he was a little kid, he used to think that horror movies were actually documentaries and how when he listened to the radio he thought the bands were actually inside the radio. His horror movie idea leads into tonight’s spooooooky Halloween episode.

A customer comes in claiming that her late father maybe haunting the items she’s trying to get rid of. She’s an amateur ghost hunter and Walter relates a story about how he heard weird voices in the basement of the Stash. The customer offers to use some of her high tech Ghostbuster equipment to do a reading in the store.

As those in the path of Hurricane Sandy know, there really is a calm before the storm. And that’s what the characters on The Good Wife experience before the hurricane of heir lives begins to hit.

After four seasons, we finally see the demise of drug lord Lemond Bishop, Peter’s reputation coming back to bite him and Kalinda’s marriage becoming a rope around her pretty little neck. They all should have seen it coming, but come on — who really does? And along the way Cary gets arrested, Alicia loses a friend and Kalinda’s lover Lana gets her home ransacked.

You can’t live in the past. And magic cannot bring you happiness, but it can bring you power. But will power make you happy? Happiness is an important part of life, yet sometimes we cling to things that we think will make us happy, but can’t.

This week’s episode had Storybrooke and pre-curse fairytale weave together nicely into the telling of Dr. Whale, who’s fairytale identity we’ve all been wondering about, right? We’re also heavy on Regina and the ladies of post-curse fairytale, after all were MIA last week. So let’s get to it!

Revenge – Recap & Review – Forgiveness

When last week’s episode ended, we were unsure of the fate of both Amanda and her baby. If you remember, a pregnant Amanda had fallen from the balcony at the Grayson’s while arguing with Victoria. The baby had been delivered by emergency Caesarean section and Amanda had been placed in a medically induced coma. Emily walked in on Kara comforting a comatose Amanda, bringing back memories of Kara holding her under water.

This week, we see more of the scene of Emily (then Amanda) being held under the water by Kara. David Clarke appears, pulling Emily from the water. She is not breathing. He performs CPR on her and yells at a distraught Kara to stay away. Having two young nieces, this scene was extremely difficult to watch, knowing that Kara had tried to kill her only daughter. Emily awakes from this dream. Aiden is lying beside her. She now knows why her father lied to her about her mother being dead. He was protecting her.

Ray Romano & Lauren Graham, Actors

Ray and Lauren are no strangers to television fans. Ray Romano starred on Everybody Loves Raymond for nine years and most recently starred in TNT’s critically acclaimed, yet canceled too soon, Men of A Certain Age. He’s also appeared in major motion pictures such as Welcome to Mooseport and of course, he voices the lovable mastodon, Manny, in the Ice Age series. Lauren Graham starred as Rory Gilmore’s mother Lorelei for seven years in Stars Hollow on Gilmore Girls. She’s been in movies such as Bad Santa, Evan Almighty, and Because I Said So. Together they star as Hank Rizzoli and Sarah Braverman on NBC’s Parenthood. They sat down and talked about their roles and the direction the show is taking them in a recent interview. Please enjoy!

666 Park Avenue – Recap & Review – A Crowd of Demons

666 Park Avenue
A Crowd of Demons

Original Air Date: Oct 28, 2012

Keith G – TwoCents Reviewer

At the end of last week’s episode, a black mist appeared from a strange suitcase Jane and found in the basement. The mist materialized into a man in old fashioned clothing who stood overlooking Henry and Jane as they slept. To me, the mist seemed a bit like the black mist that was on “Lost”. Maybe that’s just in the forefront of my mind given Terry O’Quinn stars in 666 Park Avenue?

This week starts on Halloween 1929 at the Drake. Two men are in the elevator discussing a strange a strange ceremony they took part in and that they have invited evil into their homes. One of the men (Peter) is the man who appeared from the suitcase. Peter arrives home to find his daughter (who is the little girl that Jane kept seeing last week) playing with her doll. His wife greets him and he tells her that he had a horrible day, but has found a way out of their troubles. He tells her that in heaven she will be truly happy and grabs a hatchet, attacking her with it. Hearing the screaming from her mother, the little girl hides under her bed. Shortly after, the mother walks into the girl’s bedroom, bleeding and mortally injured. Before dying, she gives her daughter a necklace (which is the necklace that Jane wears) and tells her to keep it in the family. Very interesting piece of information!

TwoCents and Five Questions with Eric Kripke (Revolution)

the man in charge

Eric Kripke, Executive Producer

For me, Eric Kripke will always be the creator of Supernatural, the tale of the demon hunting (and very handsome!) Winchester brothers on the CW. He’s also been behind the TV series Tarzan, Ghostfacers, Supernatural: The Animation and now, Revolution. He has a couple other projects in the works, but nothing to report on for sure. He also wrote the Boogeyman movie series. He acted as creator, producer and writer on all the above series. The man has a wonderful imagination. Eric graduated from USC School of Cinema-Television in 1996 and created a couple video shorts before moving on to creating Tarzan. Supernatural was his first cult hit. Now, with Revolution, he is on his way to doing it again. During a recent conference call, he shared some of his thoughts on his new show and how things are going for him today. Please enjoy!

TheTwoCents: In the pilot when the blackout happened, it looked like it was very gradual over the whole Earth, should we be reading into that, looking for clues as to the origin of the blackout, or did that just look cool to have that sweep of darkness over the Earth?

Dexter – Recap & Review – Swim Deep

After a few weeks of build-up, this was the episode that kicked the season into high gear. All of the story lines are overlapping (except one) and all of the drama has been amped up considerably.

Not only do we have both of this season’s “baddies” clearly in focus, the other stories (except one) are also clicking into place. We have movement this hour on everything from Hannah McKay to Isaak Sirko to the Bay Harbor Butcher case. But are there too many plots happening at once?

Another leg in Dhaka, Bangladesh has teams making balance scales and carrying bamboo poles. Also, it’s very hot. One team struggles with building a scale and then with moving bamboo poles. Is it enough to eliminate them?

Meanwhile, Natalie and Nadiya continue to support each other very vocally. Abbie and Ryan continue to let it annoy them to no end. Too bad for them.

Fringe – Recap & Review – The Bullet that Saved the World

Fringe
The Bullet that Saved the World

Original Air Date: Oct 26, 2012

Rachel – Sr. Managing Editor
rachel@thetwocentscorp.com

I try to stay off the grid in terms of spoilers for episodes of Fringe. I want to watch things fresh and without bias. So believe me when I say that when the ‘big thing’ happened tonight, I was absolutely shocked. I did not see it coming at all, and for those of you who did… more power to you. But, man! Was it a doozy.

Out late siphoning gas, Peter gives in to his paternal urges and slips into a curio shop to buy a replacement silver chain for Etta. When an Observer shows up, things start to go downhill. Peter tries to block him from reading, but in that attempt he draws more suspicion upon himself. He gets chased by some Observers and a handful of Loyalists to the sewer system and barely makes it out alive. He just wanted to do something nice for his daughter. Back at the lab, new necklace in hand, Etta jokes that no good deed goes unpunished. She is so right… the Observer caught a glimpse of Etta in Peter’s mind, and now they are hot on the trail.
