I have to say that the results show was FAR more entertaining than the live performances. Even though we heard the bottom two of every group sing, without the dancers, flashy lights and pyrotechnics, we could concentrate on the voices and the personalities. Sigh. If only every show would be like this.

This night worked a little different because the audience didn’t get to vote this week. Instead, each judge picked two acts to go straight to Final 12. The remaining two acts had a sing off and the judge selected one to go home.

I only agree with two of the four eliminated singers. One really got me hot under the collar.

Sheldon has a big announcement – Stephen Hawking has accepted his request to play Words with Friends. I wonder how Stephen Hawking feels about how much they mimic him on this show. I know he did appear in one episode. Anyway, Sheldon is over the moon that he is friends with Stephen Hawking. After all, it’s not called Words with Enemies, or Words with Acquaintances.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the hall, Penny has a secret.

So, Sherlock Holmes frequents beekeeping chat rooms—who knew? Thanks to his beekeeping connections, Sherlock gets access to a body that he strangles in the morgue while Watson glares disapprovingly, wearing yet another outfit I am envious of. Holmes assumes the dead man was murdered using epinephrine to cause a fatal heart attack. Unfortunately, the hospital staff is less than enthused, as am I upon realizing we’re not going to get any BFF montage for Sherlock and his husky beekeeping buddy. Hit the jump for more!

The election is just a few days away and the gang at TGS couldn’t be more excited. Kenneth is thrilled to be voting for the first time ever when he receives his absentee ballot while Pete is pumped up for the office election party. He’s for Obama, though his main motivation for the party is security guard Maria who kissed him in a fit of excitement during the 2008 election party. Pete’s heart is set on recreating the moment, but the writers tell him it won’t happen.

In this second-parter, the outcome of the election rests with Jenna Maroney and her northern Florida fanbase. Jack and Liz, supporting Romney and Obama respectively, want to influence her vote and Jenna arrives at a conclusion: she’ll moderate a debate between the two and she’ll pick whichever candidate is more “pro-Jenna.”

This show needs to get its act together. Last week, it suddenly showed up on Tuesday instead of its usual Wednesday. And after announcing the live shows would begin Nov. 1, that suddenly moved to Oct. 31. What gives?

So we got a lot of nervous live performances, a few fails, a lot of judges puffing out their chests, 15 over produced numbers with annoying flashing graphics and in-your-face dancers, Demi changing the hair of several of her contestants and two new hosts.

Last week saw Supernatural humanize the hunted by mashing up werewolves, the Blair Witch Project and love. This week saw another guest-centric episode where Benny’s backstory was revealed.

The Southern vampire’s quest to exact payback on his Maker (read Sire) and Sam’s reminiscing about his time with Amelia finally saw the awkward first meeting between Dean’s two blood brothers.

Oliver struggles to reconcile the disconnect between the person he’s become and the person he was. Last week when we left our favourite green leather vigilante he had revealed himself to Digg, whose reaction to Ollie’s secret identity sets off another personal crisis.

Arrow’s quest to help Peter Declan and his enlistment of Dinah reminds us, and Oliver, of the thin line between hero and criminal.

This is a game-changing week. Things are tossed up into the air and blocks of votes are available. How people feel about each other will play into decision-making as much as pure logic. Time will tell if that works out well. We see some very nice friendships develop, too, but do they mean anything?

Malcolm loses control of his idol in a very unusual way. Are there consequences there?
