When the Rolling Stones wrote the song You Can’t Always Get What You Want, they could have been writing about this episode of The Good Wife.

Peter gets a new opponent in the gubernatorial campaign, Alicia gets a client that she didn’t seek and freezes out a friend she valued, Hayden is grumpy and Kalinda’s husband loses his towing company bid. There are some pluses. Thanks to a suggestion from Alicia, Jackie gets a male aide, but is their relationship a bit too close? Cary does a little spy work for Diane and gets back on the criminal case beat.

Revenge
Illusion

Original Air Date: Nov 4, 2012

Jules – News Editor
jules@thetwocentscorp.com

This week’s episode is brought to you by the word illusion. We can live in a place of comforting illusion to deceive reality or hide our true intentions, but it does takes some lies and attention to detail, things Emily seems to be mostly good at and the Graysons, to some extent.

It’s not just your average weekend in the Hamptons as Victoria and Conrad are about to remarry, while Emily tries to lead inquisitive Mason Treadwell away from discovering her true identity.

Once Upon a Time
Tallahassee

There are certain events in our lives that dictate who we become. Sometimes it’s a death, a kind act or, for some, an act of betrayal. One running theme of this show: we are our choices. We get to choose how we react to the life-altering event. If it’s a betrayal, the hurt stays with us but do we let it influence our future in a positive or negative way? Your choice.

In Portland (pre-Emma-in-Storybrooke), a fresh-faced Emma in cute glasses steals her infamous yellow car…with a man in it. She’s not a really good thief. The man chit-chats – he’s Neal Cassidy (he’s also the man we saw in NYC receiving a postcard from Storybrooke). They get stopped by a cop but Neal fibs his way out of a ticket. Good thing because it isn’t Neal’s car either. Emma really sucks as a thief – she steals a stolen car.

Once again, another hour of Dexter serves largely as a building block for things to come. There are so many story arcs overlapping and running together that it seems as if every scene has gotten a little shorter and the editing more concise.

But what really happened tonight was one of the most erotically charged and surprising scenes in Dexter history. We’ll get to the specifics in a bit, but wow… I probably should have seen it coming, but it really took me by surprise? What did you think?

One team that people liked do something that is, at best, controversial and I like them a lot less after it. Really, I’m pretty disappointed in the team.

Another team takes their “own way” right out of the race. You will not be surprised by who it is.

“And branded upon the beast, the mark of his kin. For none shall live whom they have seen.”

My goodness – Portland, Grimm gets deadlier for Wesen every week. It’s time for Monroe to go on vacation, ASAP. Seems like anytime there’s a Wesen apocalypse, Nick is the reason. MeThinks Nick’s bad luck.

CSI:NY
The Lady In The Lake

Original Air Date: Nov 02, 2012

Maria – Associate Staff Writer
maria@thetwocentscorp.com

We open the episode on Detective Flack chasing down a suspect. He had his day in the spotlight last week, so now he’s back to being the runner. He’s just about to tackle the suspect when…

Two little girls interrupt and ask Adam Ross to cut to the part about the dead Princess. CSI:NY is no fairytale, but it is when Adam dresses up the case to entertaining two young girls whilst their mother is talking to the cops, picking out the bad man in a line up. Adam told the girls about Flack because he caught the suspect and the suspect told him he tossed the gun in a lake. It was that lake where they found the lady, the Princess of the story.

I will always owe the cast and crew for pouring their hearts and souls into every dimension of this series. Creating the show with Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman was a joy, but watching it evolve over the years into such an imaginative, insane and heartbreaking ride is nothing less than a thrill. I am grateful to our blessed fans, and to Kevin Reilly and Peter Rice and everyone at the glorious Fox network for allowing FRINGE to reach its bittersweet conclusion.”

No Second Season for “Political Animals”

photo: usa

According to TVLine, USA has decided not to order more episodes of Political Animals.

Although designed as a miniseries and billed as a “limited series event” that aired six episodes this past summer, there had been talk of ordering more episodes and moving the show to a series, but ratings proved to not be strong enough.

In a statement to TVLine, USA Network said, “We are proud of Political Animals, our miniseries that attracted critical acclaim and impacted the cultural conversation this summer. It was a pleasure to work with Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and a powerful cast led by Sigourney Weaver. We look forward to collaborating again with these immensely talented creatives.”
