The final season may have the Brain Surgeon as the big bad, but let’s face it, there’s really no story that is having as much impact as the fractured Dexter/Debra relationship. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that anything to do with Miami’s crime rate pales in comparison.

Back in season one, when Deb was a vice cop struggling to prove her merit, her self-image was always wrapped up in Dexter’s perception of her. We’ve watched Deb find, and now lose, her way, but her evolution helped show her how to stand on her own. Until she was sucked into the abyss of her brother’s Dark Passenger, Deb had finally come into her own.

Last week’s Falling Skies provided a jaw-breaking moment. Tonight’s episode will be no different. Those who attended the Comic-Con Falling Skies panel got a sneak peek and it is amazing.

In what must be the most voyeuristic moment every in Comic-Con history, Booth proposed marriage to Bones at the Friday panel and she accepted! Of course, it was really stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel playing the roles of Booth and Bones, but fans will take what they can get.

But is it for real? You bet! “They will get married this season,” promised producer Hart Hanson. “And,” he glanced at his stars, “it will be better scripted.”

At the end of season 8, we saw Bones propose to Booth, then rescind his acceptance. In a fun twist, the moderator asked the stars to read the script of those scenes, only Boreanaz and Deschanel decided to switch roles (let the fan fiction begin). They could barely keep a straight face and the audience lapped it up.

Comic-Con 2013 – Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs

Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs

One of the fun parts of Comic-Con (and there are WAY too many to name) are the signs. Studios, publishers and presenters try to outdo each other this year for signs that shows the way, are decorative or just advertise.

The signs can be near a room, on a bus, covering one side of a skyscraper (as Helix is on Embassy Suites next to the San Diego Convention Center) or over the toilet. You don’t even keep an eye out for them — they can’t be missed.

HBO has always dominated the hallway overhead signs. After years of True Blood getting the most signage, last year the crown was passed to Game of Thrones. But this year, the vamps are back on top.

Beauty & the Beast Panel Teases Big Secrets for Next Season

When a TV series doesn’t have any footage from the upcoming season to show diehard fans at Comic-Con, they should do what the Beauty & the Beast panel did Thursday. Show the gag reel.

Not only did it show a little more personal view of the actors, but it put everyone in a very good news. Joining producers Jennifer Levitt and Sherri Cooper were stars Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk.

Meanwhile, the panel revealed a few juicy spoilers for next season, including that the mythology will no longer be contained within a season, but will be written to go over several seasons.

OK, it’s one of those Comic-Con magical moment — Harrison Ford made his second Con appearance in support of his new film Ender’s Game on Thursday.

While Ford had a lot to say about the film (and keep watching the site for that story), some of the crowd couldn’t resist asking questions about his iconic characters. While Ford rolled his eyes at the questions, having obviously been asked many, many times before, he begrudgingly answered.

Comic-Con 2013: “Star-Crossed” is for Teens Only

Star-Crossed is for Teens Only

Imagine Romeo and Juliet with humans and aliens and you’d have the new CW show Star-Crossed. But while it should be popular with younger viewers, this paint-by-the-numbers series probably won’t appeal to adults.

The series begins in 2014 when an alien space ship crash lands on earth. Although the leader walks toward the military with his hands up, he is shot. That kind of “they’re treated so unfairly” manipulation is the backbone of the series. A young alien boy runs and ends up in the shed of Emry, a young girl with cancer. She takes care of him until the military shoots him as well.

This show keeps getting better and better on the drama side and this week is no different. After last week’s cliffhanger, I was worried, and for good reason. But this episode dealt with the aftermath of Charlie’s shooting up and we also go after that drug smuggling via submarine.

And let’s not forget a pretty big shocker of a reveal in the final minutes. A game changer even. Let’s not waste any time and get to the recap.
