This week, the Final 12 will become the Final 10. That’s right, two of the contestants will be cut this week.

And if there’s any test of voice quality, it would this week’s theme – The Songs of the Divas. There doesn’t seem to be a list, as the judges did question Queen as a diva (answer: Freddie Mercury = diva).

One simple action or gesture can have a whole lot of meaning. While some believe in one thing, others are just oblivious to see what is really going on. Such misunderstandings always make well for a comedy and this week we have some good and not-so good examples of it.

With everyone in their own bubble for the most part tonight, I’ve broken up the story lines as such. So let’s get started.

15 cheftestants remain after last week’s culling and they’re all in Seattle now. And Padma is here! And Gail! I missed Gail.

But, WAIT! There’s a surprise! And it’s not necessarily a good one! It’s the sort of surprise I find annoying!

A kidnapping is pretty normal for the SVU. A kidnapping that turns into a custody case? Been there, done that. Don’t worry, though. This episode has yet more twists to make sure things stay interesting. Because of how the show is usually slow-paced and all.

A little girl plays in the park with her parents and suddenly disappears. There’s an immediate suspect in a guy hanging around the park watching kids, but he swears he’s innocent. This early in the episode, we can guess he’s right.

In this post-crazy Tribal episode, Lisa has to deal with what happened. Who is she going to play with? She goes through a lot in this episode as she talks with Jonathan about what sort of person she’s had to be to survive in Hollywood and what sort of person she can be now.

Abi doesn’t help her cause as she can’t keep quiet. She says quite a few things that trouble Lisa but is that enough to push Lisa into voting against Tandang?

It doesn’t take long for Annie to ask for help from Eyal, and he is more than willing to help her. After Barber (nice to know he has a first name- Erik) tell Annie that his sources tell him that Megan is dead, she heads to the morgue only to find herself in danger of getting killed. Megan was not the corpse on the table and Annie’s help on the phone is….well…not Auggie and she needs to think a bit faster on her feet.

As for Auggie, the episode starts out with Auggie and Annie having that drink…finally! She mentioned he wanted to talk and as most of the female viewers wait to see what he is going to say, he doesn’t say what we hoped for. Instead, he tells her he is leaving for Iraq to be a Battle Buddy. She encourages him and tells him it will be a good journey for him.

Because of Hurricane Sandy and then the election, it’s been awhile since we’ve been able to watch the most dysfunctional group participate in the most dysfunctional therapy sessions. Seriously, if these people are participating because of court or doctor orders, I’m seriously concerned as to whether or not these sessions would be accepted. Oh well.

Owen was the main focus of this week’s episode which made me really happy. He’s been one of my favorites—mostly because of his random one-liners. He and Ryan realize they’re both big fans of halo and start to bond over that. What is it with boys and halo anyway? I was with a group of friends the other night and sat in frustrated awe as the boys discussed the merits of Halos 1-4 (did you know there was more than one?!) for a good 20 minutes. Boring.

These breaks between episodes is driving me nuts, but luckily, you can never fall out of love with the Braverman family. Or at least most of them.

Last we saw, Amber and Ryan were starting a new relationship, Julia was getting used to being the unemployed one, and Kristina found out she has to undergo chemotherapy. We tackle all these tonight and how a family stays together during the difficult and tough times. They are the ones always there for you after all.
