This was not a good episode. There was no tension anywhere. Nothing was ever in doubt. The tasks really aren’t much fun to watch. The only fun comes from watching Ryan grow more and more frustrated as he fails to figure out a mental task.

Making the episode even worse was the feeling that the show was keeping us in the dark. There were no start times. There wasn’t a clear explanation of why James and Abba could check in the second time they went to the mat but not the first time, even though they didn’t have both passports either time.

Dexter – Recap & Review – Argentina

After a fairly bloodless season, tonight’s episode actually gained some plot momentum. Most of the reveals and advances were welcome, although one storyline that we hoped, pleaded, and begged to be forgotten did rear its ugly head. Luckily, it was handled in the best possible way.

Although this season has introduced to the Kashka Brotherhood and Hannah McKay, it’s really all about the evolution of Deb and Dexter’s relationship. Everything that has happened either services that arc, or it drags the show down. And I’m happy to report that we only got three small scenes of the latter.

It’s SAT day, and many students at Vernon Academy imbibe a drug to help them with it. However, one student doesn’t show up at all. Luke Stevenson is still in the library, dead, after having his head bashed in with a mug.

Lindsay isn’t working that case, because she’s currently in her home town of Montana. Danny calls her, concerned. She just lets it go to voice mail.

This weeks episode opens with a conversation like one I’ve had in the past. Granted, my friends and I have never doodled a containment field for a “Frisbee sized wormhole”, but we have talked about the possibilities of other dimensions, and the idea of whether or not meeting the other beings would be beneficial, or hazardous. And Sheldon’s wrong to think that something that could fit through a hole that small could just be blocked with a Frisbee.

More important this week though – what does Sheldon do every day from 2:45pm to 3:05pm? And why doesn’t Leonard already know, since he sadly knows far too much about the rest of Sheldon’s schedule?

Discovery Channel to End “American Choppers” This Season

photo: discovery

According to Entertainment Weekly, Discovery Channel has decided to end the long running series “American Chopper” after its current season. After ten years, the show will conclude with the previously announced four-way bike build-off special, “The Revenge,” airing live from Las Vegas on December 11.

American Chopper premiered as a Discovery Channel special in 2002, then launched as a regular series a few months later. In 2008, Discovery moved the show to its sister channel TLC. A couple later, behind-the-scenes warring between Senior and Junior prompted TLC to outright cancel the show. Parties soon made up and in 2010 the company re-ordered the program as American Chopper: Junior vs. Senior. The series later reverted to its original title and switched back to Discovery.

This week, P&R was visited by the most high profile guest-star you could imagine, who is also the object of Leslie’s affection (besides Ben, of course): Vice President Joe Biden. Ben called in a few favours and arranged a meeting with the Veep as a special engagement gift for Leslie, and as you can imagine, she was all giggles and could hardly speak. VP Biden was a good sport, even with Leslie pawing at him.

At City Hall, it seems as if everyone’s got a special project on the go. Ben is taking a job with the accounting firm that he turned down last year, while Tom enlists him to look over the business plan for Rent A Swag. Perhaps the most surprising go-getter is April, who’s presenting an impressed Leslie with plans for a new dog park. Aaaaand here come the waterworks…

The scariest thing for a contestant on the X Factor is how much the judges have the control over your performance. If you lose, it’s not because you didn’t do well – it could be that your mentor screwed up and in so doing, destroyed your chances at a dream career.

Two acts found themselves in that situation this week.

This week’s episode opened with a guy who’s seen The Crow way too many times robbing a really nice house and then shooting the occupants in cold blood (presumably.) So needless to say, I was somewhat intrigued.  I was wondering whether Holmes would totally sulk after Watson told him she knew about Irene, and yes he did.  Watson tells him to get over it because her job is to overstep her bounds.  Holmes suddenly forgives her when he gets a text about the murders from Gregson and all is seemingly well.

Follow me after the jump to find out, well, all the other stuff.
