TwoCents and Five Questions with Matthew Perry (Go On)

no more mr. sunshine

Matthew Perry, Actor

Could Go On BE any funnier? Yes, most of you probably know Matthew Perry best as Chandler Bing on Friends. I know when I think of him, it’s the first thing that pops into my head. But he’s also appeared in movies such as, “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Fools Rush In,” and “17 Again.” He’s guest starred on dozens of TV shows, including his most recent run as Mike Kresteva on The Good Wife. Since Friends ended in 2004, Matthew has made several attempts at successful roles, such as Matt Albie on Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip and Ben Donovan on Mr. Sunshine. I personally loved both, but not enough other people did. Has he finally found a hit with Go On? Read on to see what he thinks!

TheTwoCents: What drew you to the show? What was it about this one that was special that you thought hey, this might be the one I’ve been looking for?

Fall season finale! Monroe gets something he wants, but not everything. Seems like the “pre-Revolution” phase of the series has concluded and the real Revolution starts in the Spring.

We start with a quick flashback. Five years after the blackout, Miles and Monroe are caught in a gunfight. Miles is out of ammo. Everyone is starting to run out of bullets. Monroe jokes that soon they’ll be fighting with swords, like pirates (!) Miles tells Monroe to retreat with the men. Monroe says he will never leave Miles.

This week’s episode involves a young artist who falls into his glue from a billboard that he is vandalizing. Now this young man makes a big impression on our Angela and I, for one, am not happy with how the writers are explaining Angela’s bit of a low spell. But as for the body being attached to the young man is quite gross and so that made me happy.

The show has made Angela such a downer lately and I really hate that. I loved how optimistic she was and full of life, but lately she is just depressing and blah. The fact that the writers are trying to blame it on marriage and having kids is just a bunch of malarkey…and that’s putting it nicely. I mean yes, you have a great responsibility to the kids, but your sense of humor and Zen for life shouldn’t just disappear. I always imagined Angela sharing her bubbly spunk with the kids.

Wow, this season went so fast! I can’t believe we’re at the finals already. Tonight was broken up into two rounds. Round one is the redo dance. They get to pick one of the dances from earlier in the season and try to improve on their scores.

Round two is the always highly anticipated free style. This season it’s Super-Sized! They can even bring in extra dancers to perform with them. So, how did everyone do? Well, Len wanted to give someone an 11!

Sorry, the recap is a tad bit late. Was in a bit of a sleeping-spell-lite myself. I mean, after a long distance trip with a 24-hour delay and a Jet Blue-like tarmac situation, a sleeping spell doesn’t sound too shabby. Too bad I don’t believe in true love or else I’ll visit Regina for some of that goodness.

In Storybrooke, Henry tells Regina and Charming about Aurora. Oh, also, mom and young grandma are alive!! Shouts and happy dances all around…until they realize a shared nightmare with a stranger is the only connection to Ms. Swan and Ms. White – and the presence of Cora. Sad faces and mild depression spreading…

In many TV dramas, the heroes hurt each other and do shocking things all the time. In sitcoms, though, nice characters typically stay nice. As such, the actions of Marshall’s old law school friend Brad were an unpleasant shock to many.

The episode opens with Marshall in front of a judiciary committee after the case has wrapped up. The judges start out by asking him to explain his actions. But don’t worry- that’s actually not as much of a bad thing as it might sound.

This week we find the Comic Book Men operating amidst the Kevin Smith book signing held at the Stash.

People are lined up down the street and around the block and Jason Mewes and Ming work security. There’s lots of talk of capping the line, but I don’t think they actually go through with it and it looks like Kevin signs and glad-hands with everyone who showed up at the store – eventually. He seems really tired by the time some fans show up to show off their Jay & Silent Bob tattoo and get Mewes and Kevin’s signatures so they can be tattooed later.

It’s not often that the court case takes the background to Alicia’s personal life, but it provided a nice change of pace this episode.

The case seemed dry at first. The firm is representing a CFO of an on-line tax firm that filed tax returns on dead people for personal gain. The problem is — did the CFO do it or the CEO? Both are accused and each has their own legal counsel, so it’s like a three-way catfight.

Things are not looking good for Glenn and Maggie. Merle is not to happy with Glenn not giving up intel on the location of the group. Also, Glenn was there when they left Merle on the roof of that department store in Atlanta. No, Merle isn’t happy at all. So he decides to take it out on Glenn’s face.

At the prison, everyone is stunned to realize there is a human out among the Walkers. She is covered in Walker blood so they don’t smell her quite yet. But Michonne has been shot (thanks, again, Merle) and slowly, her scent gets to one Walker and then another. She tries to fight them off, but she is too weak and there are too many. Carl springs to action (which is good because Rick might not have helped) and starts shooting Walkers. They rescue her… and the basket of baby formula she has with her.

666 Park Avenue – Recap & Review – What Ever Happened to Baby Jane

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane

Original Air Date: Nov 25, 2012

Keith G – TwoCents Reviewer
keithg@thetwocentscorp.com

When we last checked in at 666 Park Avenue, Olivia had been chloroformed by Victor Shaw during his attempt to steal the red box from Gavin. Upon placing the locket from Jane’s necklace in the “eye”: of the mosaic in the basement floor, the floor opened, revealing a spiral staircase. Jane started walking down the staircase. As soon as she cleared where the floor once was, the floor closed back over her, trapping her below. While this happened, Henry paced, waiting to propose to Jane in their apartment.

Henry is frantically passing out “Missing” flyers at the onset of this episode, all with Jane’s photo. Jane has been missing for about 36 hours and you can see the fear, worry, and guilt on Henry’s face because he convinced her to stay in New York.
